Shadowness - xeoncat Digital Artist en Mythical Beauty - Dakini
Of all the beings I came across, the Dakini is probably one of the hardest to describe because they have their own versions in Tibetan Buddhism, Japanese Buddhism and Hinduism and they're not exactly supernatural beings. Enlightened meditation practicioners can be called dakini, but Dakini is also a philosophical concept of the enlightened feminine form. "As the Western nun Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo comments, “Many lamas have said that women make superior practitioners because they are able to dive into meditation much more easily than males. This is because many males are afraid of dropping the intellect, especially monks who have been studying for a long time. To suddenly just let that go and be naked in the meditation experience is frightening for them, whereas women seem to be able to manage it naturally.” from Thu, 13 Jun 2013 09:59:51 -0400 Granny Rags
Granny Rags from Dishonored as if painted by Delilah Copperspoon. Granny Rags was once a beautiful and noble woman called Vera Moray, but after her expedition to Pandyssia she turned to black magic, costing her sanity and sight. They usually carry around lots of long garments that give them the ability to fly. For the purpose of sexiness I’ve placed most of these garments around her, not on her =D Also, her tattoo means Enmusubi no Tennyo, which is a special type of Tennyo that oversee matters of love and matchmaking, very much like Cupids. And the juicy 2560px wallpaper Sat, 25 May 2013 11:57:08 -0400 Apsaras
The Apsaras are beautiful supernatural spirits in the Hindu and Buddhist mythologies. Their natural element is the Air and are great dancers. They usually perform to the gods or seduce men (sometimes to disrupt their meditation) or take care of fallen heroes. Read the Wikipedia entry to get a better overview. What I find most interesting about the Apsaras is that you can see them sculpted everywhere in some Hindu temples, often with incredible details. The Cherubim (singular: Cherub) are a type of angel many times mentioned in the Bible. the first occurrence is when the Garden of Eden is closed to humans, Cherubim guard the Tree of Life with flaming swords. They are also somewhat present whenever God speaks. Had a lot of fun doing the design and painting on this one! I hope it can easily transmit the fanning of flames as I hear them. From Wikipedia: Seraph (pl: Seraphim) Literally “burning ones”, the word seraph is normally a synonym for serpents when used in the Hebrew Bible. A seminal passage in the Book of Isaiah (6.1-8) used the term to describe fiery six-winged beings that fly around God’s throne singing “holy, holy, holy”. This throne scene, with its triple invocation of holiness (a formula that came to be known as the Trisagion), profoundly influenced subsequent theology, literature and art.
Don't forget to download the 2560x1440 wallpaper, because it has sweet details.

Sat, 09 Mar 2013 17:10:56 -0500 The Mecha with the Pearl Reactor Core
I had an old lineart I did for a collaboration, but the other artist chickened out of he painting, so today I set myself to paint this. A mashup of literal boobs of steel, traditional japanese mecha designs and a pint of Classical painting and Johannes Vermeer (that was the idea of a friend ^^ thanks) Wed, 20 Feb 2013 20:43:13 -0500 Chayot Hakodesh
I'm proud to announce a new commissioned series by the mighty Tweek86. This series will focus on feminine beauty and will not feature nudity or porn. So, I'm posting it with my mainstream nickname, xeoncat, and will also be posted on my deviantart profile. The first piece is of the beings referred in the Bible as the Chayot. Ezekiel saw them as a composite of 4 beings, later called the tetramorph. Since most resources about the Chayot come from hebrew mysticism, I added some flavor in that direction. It is very difficult to envision a concept for an angel because there are so many depictions of angels and winged beings throughout the history of art and throughout many cultures, that it was really difficult to come up with something fresh and sexy and at the same time still drawing from the source material. Hope you like it!
Don't forget to download the 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 wallpapers, because they have sweet details.

Mon, 18 Feb 2013 16:04:42 -0500
