This tree is the one taht remains in my heart. it is a sign i'm home, in my birthplace. It's a great place to think, to walk, to sit and dream.

Trying to get all the hay in before the rain comes.. meaning having to work throughout the night. A farmer must follow the weather.

witam - Sofie
Graduated form model-school, now ready to make a portfolio of her looks. I got chosen to be one of two photographers to make these shots for her.

I was going for a 'though' look.

  • leiko i'm not sure what you meant by "though" look. did you mean tough?

anyway, here is a few comments on the photo. i like the color scheme. the gray of the shirt and the gray of the sky match well. the angle would be interesting, but i wouldn't have used it for her, especially with her weaing sunglasses. first of all, the angle and the shape of the glasses makes them fit awkardly on her face. it is unattractive, and unnatural, as if the glasses don't fit her. it also makes her eyes look a lot higher up on her face than they are. i also don't think the angle is a good angle for her. her jaw isn't particularlly strong, so she doesn't come off as tough.

  • witam Thanks for your comment. You're right on the glasses. I do think this angle fits because i wanted to show the silence of her face.. a stern face.. and as such tough.

witam - Cinema
The oldest, still remaining, town cinema in Belgium participated in a competition 'Monumentenstrijd' to gain money to renovate. All entries were old buildings with a lot of history. They got to the finals and made second place... This is the shot they used a lot to promote their entry.

(because the public voted them into the finals and to the second place, they still get quite some money to renovate)

witam I use a canon 350d and these 2 lenses are what i prefer to shoot with: wide-angle (10-20) and a regular 17-85.
