"The important thing in life not necessarily to be strong but to feel strong, to be tested at least once, to go at least once in the most ancient of human conditions facing challenges alone, with nothing to help him, except hands and head. " [Alexander Supertramp] "Inspiration exists, but we have to find it working." (Picasso) "Men lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health. By thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, and ultimately not live in neither the present nor the future ... Nov 28th, 2011I'm a self taught illustrator from the Philippines. My artworks usually focus on women with very long hair surrounded by flowers and vines. Other artworks depend on what I feel or what I have experienced. I do traditional and digital illustrations. I usually listen to music while I draw something because for me it helps a lot when I'm making details to my drawings. My dream is to become a childrens book illustrator. As of today, I'm still trying to find and learn more techniques in drawing to improve my illustrations. =) You can also find me here: Tumblr: http://nikkiradan.tumblr.com/ Behance: http://www.behance.net/nikkiradan

Sep 11thLowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

Jun 12thI'm a 27 year old artist living with a fiancee and two cats. I use art to relax. I believe in making pieces that are weird and off, and causing the viewer to question their previous assumptions and misconceptions. I enjoy doing a broad variety of work, but I'm partial towards black and white over color. I write and draw a manga called Eternity Concepts, which you can read for free on hallowedcapriccio.net with a valid account (NSFW), or with this link: http://www.hallowedcapriccio.net/?q=view/eternityconcepts I do freelance writing and have been published (magazine), and a great more creative work in a variety of fields. I'm currently training to become a licensed tattoo artist. I have endometriosis.
Feb 27th, 2012Surrealism and the Landscape is my theme. I like to paint spontaneous biomorphic imagery but depicting the landscape and seasons is equally important to me.
Aug 26thMy style of "Photo manipulation" wants to create through real objects a pictorial composition and artistic, since often the photo manipulation is used to make photorealism...
