Jul 23rd, 2011Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

I have a BFA in Fine Art from the University of Hawaii where I studied Polynesian art history. I love travel, and culture, and cheesecakes. May 30th, 2011Hi!! My named is Stephanie I love drawing anime. My first drawing was a bird when I was 5 years old. Than later I became interest with anime, cartoons and realistic. My first book I made when I was 10 was called "The Lost Bunny" It was about a a bird who found a egg and thought it was her. When it hatched, it was a blue bunny. So than later the bird try to find the baby bunny's mother.. but when the bird found the mother of the bunny, she was dead. I made alot of comic books of my own and comic scripts of random stuff xD I just want to show my drawing to the world and to people who love anime as much as I do. I want to be a somebody in the future,to make children books, anime shows and comic books. Mar 26th, 2011I love the outdoors/traveling. I love music(all types) I have been very open minded on music. I love going to museums to look at the fine arts. I love fine art. My all time favorite thing to do is take pictures. of people/outdoors, or just watever catches my eye. I try to be creative and unique. I really would like to draw myself towards a modern style in photography. I also do photgraphy on myself.
