Wow, thanks a lot, Tom! The feature caught me by surprise I must admit (in a positive sense of course :) ). I haven't been very active lately (shame on me) and hope that I'll have more time again to spend on Shadowness in the near future. Thanks for your support and again for the great feature. I really appreciate it! :

    sleepysage followed you

The Taoistic philosopher Zhuang-Zi once expressed his attitude towards life: "Leap into the boundless and make it your home!" I totally agree and thus chose it as my guiding principle!

Now, Henry Cartier-Bresson aptly provides a link between this Taoistic principle and photography: "Taking photographs (...) is a way of shouting, or freeing oneself, not of proving or asserting one's own originality. It is a way of life."

So, in short, I take pictures because I love to and I love to take pictures because they are manifestations of a particular simple and sensitive attitude towards life.

I hope you enjoy my photographs as much as I enjoy taking them.

I'd be glad if you leave a comment to tell me what you think about my work or just to chat a bit. Have a good time!

Aw, thanks my friend! The ruin is located on a hilltop from which one has a beautiful scenic view across the sea to the hill range on the other side. Btw, great new avatar, Nicoline! Are you a Shrek fan? ;)

Yes, I like sciences! Actually I'm a teacher too. :D My subjects are maths and philosophy. How do you like those? And don't worry, Shadowness is a very friendly community that welcomes new members and provides lots of inspiration and help. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask, Julie. I'd be glad to help you. (That is if you don't mind asking someone who joined just two weeks ago. hehehe) Btw, I'd be happy if you just call me Florian. I chose "sleepysage" as pseudonym because of a poem I like a lot. It's by Raymond Smullyan (a contemporary logician and mathematician) about the quintessence of Taoism: The Sage falls asleep not because he ought to Nor even because he wants to But because he is sleepy. So, how was your day and your first experiences with Shadowness?

      Hi Florian!

I'm glad to know you're a teacher too! So happy :D

I love my philosophy in college too (now, in my line of work, i seldom met people who can discuss philosophy with me) and I think I'm pretty good in Math hehehe. I actually teach biology and research in high school (so that would mean i have to also teach statistics, a bit more on application to data analysis)...

I also love literature, I have an illusion that I'm Athena in college hahaha! the lines is beautiful...so that's were sleepysage came from! So nice.

I find shadowness fascinating, though I'm a bit shy because they have created lots of beautiful artworks and i know i cant level to that. I actually spent my whole day just browsing thru shadowness the other day, and i'm kind of stunned :D I wish i can also learn to use technology to do that. I am fond of drawing and all, but looking at there works, i am completely kindergarten.

Hmmm what artwork are you doing now? Initially, i join shadowness because my student had an artwork and requested me to like it in shadowness, i have to join to like it :D But now i think I'm inspired to also try and honed my hobby which is buried amidst paper works. When I'm already tired from solving world problem (that's what my researches are hehe) i always find myself playing with Photoshop, enhancing my picture (simply re-coloring my hair or blurring unwanted marks). I've tried making my picture scaly too! hmmm i tried vector art, but i think i will have brain damage before i can get through with the tutorial hahaha

      I'm sorry, i think I'm bubbling already...will, i'm a teacher you know! :D
