Bilibili Dam is the largest dam in South Sulawesi, located in Gowa district, about 30 kimlometer to the east of Makassar. The dam was inaugurated President Megawati Sukarnoputri in 1999.
40 428 hectare dam with the reservoir was built with the proceeds of foreign loans amounted to Rp 780 billion of cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

However, when the rainy season, the former mud slides in the foothills of Mount Bawakaraeng Bilibili flowing into the reservoir until menjdi turbid raw water. If the turbidity level can no longer be cleared Installation control room (IPA), Gowa and Makassar PDAM, so some residents of Makassar and Gowa Gungguminasa can not get clean water from taps.
