Hello everyone. I am a designer and a self-taught photographer. I am always excited about learning new things. Amongst diverse fields of design, I am interested mainly in the sector of advertising and marketing. After studying media design with all the flurescent things like 3D , Video Production, Graphic design , I decide to spend one and half year in Germany to look for my own direction. I spent time observing several advertising media all over Germany, like in the train station, on the street and took photos to remember what I observed. I was lucky since I had the chance to settle in Cologne in one semester which normally lasts for 6 months. Cologne is truly the metropole of advertising, in which advertising billboards overwhelm everywhere. Advertising industry is very popular there and not so rare like in the country where I originally came. So I fell in love with advertising because of my impression in Germany.

The other factor that makes me fall in love with advertising is photography. Photography is truly a good means of visual communication. It depends primarily in 2 main factors : the inspiring environment and the equipment. During my stay in Germany, I had full freedom to discover myself several aspects of photography, since I could have the freedom to take photos nearly everywhere in Germany. In my mother country, it is somehow restricted and photographers are not allowed to be proactive everywhere. I studied one semester at the academy of communication design in Cologne, which specilised mainly in the sector of graphic design. They emphasise the creativity thinking and conceptuality. The academy itself is a creative environment , since they built such rooms like David Carson room, cool huh? They hung lots of beautiful posters and photography montages on the wall, which are purely creative sources for students. During the time at the academy, I force myself to finish collecting my credentials, my creative portfolio, to prepare for a solid return to my home country. Intentionally I'd like to look for a design job and a portfolio is thus indispensible for a successful application. I returned to Vietnam in May. Luckily I finally got in the advertising and marketing sector at an IT company. This company is one of the leading content and service providers in the dawning market of Japan. They aspire to expand the venture business and advertising is obviously indispensable for a quick grow. I am lucky to have chance to cooperate with a clever and creative supervisor who inspired me a lot by his professionalism and his experience in business. My business english is also growing quickly, since I have to get involved more in copywriting advertising campaigns. Recently we have successfully conducted an advertising campaign at a job fair at the university where I used to study media design. Nowadays I am working on new projects nearly everyday and most of them require strong conceptual thinking which is truly critical for my career development. I am happy working with truly creative, dynamic and friendly people in a professional environment.

Finally I'd like to write about what is in my mind regarding to advertising. Advertising design is also something like art. A good advertisement usually starts out with something very simple, clean design but a strong concept. Advertising designer is not only supposed to create beautiful things with bunch of effects, but should also able to think critically and creatively and most importantly able to think conceptually. It seems to be really hard working on an advertising projects and there should be at least 2 people in the team. No one would be able to create an ad alone, but have to cooperate with someone else in the team. Well, two heads are always better than one head, isn't it? There are usually one art director and one copywriter in a team. The copywriter is the one who comes up with the concept and inspires the art director to design. Firstly is about to do research and understand the meaning of the brands, and then is about to prepare for a creative brief, some draft sketches and do the brand activation. Finally is about to look at the final work all together to make sure everything goes in the same line, make sure the English speak correctly . Everything sucks when the ad speaks bad English , doesn't it? Last step is to contact a printing house and print the works, bring the works to exhibition place. Ultimately showtime :)
