First of all, this wallpaper definitely has some merits. The model chosen has a dynamic pose, and interesting clothing and weaponry which hints at her exotic origins. She has bot like joints, which pays homage to Shadowness, and her roots. However, I have agreed to be extremely critical in my review, and so here goes.
First of all, the lighting source is inconsistent in the picture. The shadow on the planets stem from different places. The shadow beneath her does not seem to match her figure. And the flame on her katana does not seem to affect the surrounding areas. Her second weapon, which appears to be a stick, appears to be missing a piece.
In addition to this, although red and black makes for a cool color scheme, there is not enough distinction between the character, and parts of the background. The black of her dress blends in with the trees and the sky. The text seems to follow the theme of the flame, because it has a similar tint and pattern to the fire on the katana, but without a border or shadow, it is hard to see some parts of the text. The reflection of the sphere on the snow looks too perfect and fake, because the snow looks textured, but the reflection seems perfect. Also, the direction of the reflection and the direction of the shadow do not match, as if they are affected by two different light sources. The sphere on the ground does not make sense to me. The other spheres seem like planets, but that sphere is just laying in the snow, and it appears to be almost the same size as the other spheres.
The lady's skin tone seems lighter on her legs, neck, and arm, than it does on her face. Also, I would have preferred if her feet looked more android like, following the lines and smoothness seen in the legs. It seems awkward to have realistic feet, but robotic looking legs.
Since this is a wallpaper, ideally, it would look better if it was more simple. The foliage causes too much distraction to the eyes. It may have been better if there was just snow and sky, without the trees.
I thought the barely visible, textured moon, however, was interesting. I also liked the papery look of the snow. There are good ideas, here. It just needs some work in the details!
liked, faved, comment: she really looks like a robot. the red and the shadows and its darkness to it is superb. could work a bit more on her figure shadows and the light source. The background is a little flat. but otherwise, wonderful manip..
