This one was for a class assignment from last semester. The project was pretty much to create a place with design ethos.
NOTE: I based the idea for my concept piece on a city in my story The Reality of Dreams: Dreamfallen.
The basic idea was that there is a city under the ground and hidden in the caves/cliffs. Because of the way they're positioned in the caves, they receive little to no sunlight whatsoever, and instead receive a lot of moon and star light. There are minerals in the water that flow through the caverns that absorb light as well, and with the stellar light and reflective light in the water, it can get pretty bright in the caves, almost as if it were daylight, only bathed in a blue-silver light rather than a warm orange.
The people here collect the absorbent and reflective minerals from the water and walls of the caves and with it build structures that help them see in the dark. After this, they began to build houses and other buildings for which they can live in.
Because of the natural curves and basic angling of the caves, this environment has natural acoustics that enhance sound. This is how word usually gets across; one might be standing in one part of the city but hear an animated conversation from another. This also provides for great bands and music.

I really like the sketchy strokes on this, nice contrast to the soft digital shading.
