Oct 21st/wiseprotector says: "This picture was taken in a remote area in our province, poverty is rampant in the area. I took this picture because I felt the kid's insecurity, in a way that no one wants to play with him (maybe because he's young or something) but the feeling of the child broadly shows.
After I took this pic, her mom rushed over to her son and gave him some pants to wear. Poverty greatly affects the character of children."
/capricorn says: "I took this picture at the temple in Jakarta, Indonesia. There was a celebration of Chinese New Year, many Chinese-Indonesian went to the temple to pray, and they have a special tradition where the rich peoples give some of their wealth to the poor. This old lady is waiting for them, asking for some money. What I want to share with this photo is how poor this old lady is, and she's willing to wait just for a few coins. This is very touching for me because there are so many poor people in Indonesia. The income per capita in Indonesia is only US$ 3.600/year."
/Toolbazar says: "I took this one in GuiZhou province in China, more exactly in San He, the countryside near Zun Yi. It's a place where people are mostly farmers and live far from skyscrapers and the new business market that appears everywhere in China. I took this one because I like to show the normal and common life, how chinese people use to live everyday. I try to choose the subjects as if they have something to tell. I love pictures with a story inside, a picture where you can imagine the life of these people. I use a Nikon D5000 with an 18-55mm lens. How I took it? Like everytime, I try to be invisible and its hard... Being a foreigner in China is like an E.T on earth....just notice this moment, wait until they forget you and click."
