Dec 6thLowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

I'm ghalamDAR (which means writer/author in Farsi). i started art with graphic designing in 2005... which was a real accident...! i was just trying to make some logos for my name and i found it interesting, so i continued and reached this level... i got into graffiti and street art in 2009 but the first time i hold an spray can was about 2006... actually when i played getting up video game and just got stock in it's atmosphere!!! ( i was such a kid in that time!!!!) i started with the walls of subway terminal... they were pretty unclean but completely safe to waste time on them... this year (2011) i decided to get involved more seriously... so i gave exams and changed my courses from mathematics and physics to visual arts... and i got into "Tehran Art University" which is the best art university in Iran... right now... i feel happy with the road i stepped in... cause I'm sure that i just found the reason of my creation...

Mar 23rd, 2012Look to the Sun you find a world before you, it is open with treasures of Truth, but what is it? spending my every moment in the thoughts of what could be, the past? not for now. Moving through time and space with a conscious mind take me to the cosmos. Not with my words create me a visual. Paint me a poem with your tears of love here I am. Taken form in a land not my own embraced. Who am I? the question left unanswered. Take this soul as it is for beauty is my only weapon of choice, so EXPRESS EXPERIENCE who you are, who are we? My world no longer black and white seeking refuge in the comfort of love, create me a fantasy. Who AM I? Opportunities creates a path taken me to a resting place much like I remembered. Where? look in my Soul what do you see? Tell me... What is it? All I see is me looking at me, only Me? not for long. Who am I? A mirror reflection of reality itself. There! now I have you figure you out, only for Now my children only for now. The next Now could bring another reflection of the other. So here take this soul as it is for it is my gift I've given you. :) I welcome you to enjoy and feel free to communicate through the beauty of Film and Photography in displaying your Hearts TRUTH. Feb 26th, 2010The work I create is heavily influenced by fashion, beauty and editorial imagery. I love being able to control and create an idea from scratch. With the light, the design, and with the collaboration of different people. I have worked as a photographer, and as an assistant. I am open to differing work fields, so long as they are creative.
