my first real attempt at doing star trails :) arrived at washington pass just after sunset and shot until sunrise..the moon was just setting behind the mountain as i started the shooting..made for a nice glow silhouetting liberty mountain but made it...

Noise is an ever present problem. Some cameras handle it much better than others. I use a PS plugin called Neatimage which does a pretty good job of removing noise. I know a lot of other night shooters just use the noise reduction in Lightroom (which I hope to get my hands on soon) Those startrails you posted are just fantastic. I actually like those cloud streaks. They are not obtrusive and even add a bit to the images. I only have one small suggestion, and that is, in the Liberty Star Trails one on the right hand side of the individual trails there is an individual star evident and slightly above the trail line. I'm guessing this was a test shot and then there was a minute or so delay before you started the sequence proper (and might have moved the tripod slightly). If you ever revisit this shot I would be removing that sub frame from the stack.

This is just pure win Addam. Wow! Just WOW! Fantastic shot. I wish I had locations like that around me. That cloud band actually looks like a comets tail.
