★~A Unique, Fun, Colourful & Dark photographic style that is bold & beautiful to create a story & memories that will last a life time. Specialising in Alternative photography and Dark Arts. .~★ Nicci discovered her love and passion for modelling, completing her professional modelling and grooming course while attending the SDA Academy of Modelling in 1998. Nicci then went on to do photographic modelling for hair design studios and various freelance photographers. The concept of DarkAngel Photography was born with Nicci's vision of the alternate modelling scene. Nicci's focus on the alternative style is achieved without all the adult entertainment industry style of photography as seen in men's magazines and adult websites. With the use of costumes and props to create a story, a theme where the images are viewed as art not just a picture in a magazine or a photograph. Nicci's unique ideas encompass themes from the fantasy realm of the vampire lore and undead with a major focus on the Gothic scene to the Roller-derby girls and Cyber Goth style with a twist. Nicci's end vision is to become as mainstream as the Suicide Girls in popularity and show the world that there is NO NEED for "Pornographic style" photography to portray sensuality and beauty among women no matter their size or body shape, Nicci's focuss is on alternate fashions and ideas. Nicci is a very hard working dedicated young woman of vision and has a dream. With my passion and desire for creativity, art & photography, DarkAngel Photography brings a unique, fun, colourful & Dark approach to photography. A Style that is bold & beautiful to create a story & memories that will last a life time. Specialising in Alternative photography and Dark Arts. DarkAngel Photography. your escape to the Surreal.

Apr 2ndKalliope Amorphous is an artist whose primary body of work has evolved into an exploration of the conceptual self-portrait photograph as a catalyst for exploring ideas of identity, gender, archetype and myth. Her work ranges from interpretations of pre-existing iconography to compositions meant purely to provoke and challenge perceptions and first impressions. Kalliope on her work: “I am not a photographer or a narcissist. I am an artist with a camera. I want to push the boundaries of what I define as “self†and “other†by playing with ideas of identity, emotion and the various visual interpretations and possibilities that exist within them.†Self-taught in photography, Kalliope takes an intuitive approach to composition and lighting and works without the aid of professional lighting or studio equipment. Makeup, costuming, photography, and post processing are all self-created. Kalliope is a recipient of the 2010 Julia Margaret Cameron award for self-portraiture photography. Sep 10th, 2007Photography and Graphic Design are only hobbies of mine that I have always expressed interest in, but have only recently been able to start exploring.</fontsize> <fontsize="1">I use a variety of cameras for photography. These include both point-and-shoot cameras, SLRs, and D-SLRs. I do not modify any of my photos with Photoshop (except for tagging my name to them) unless they are in an album that specifically states so. Nothing against those who do, I just think it takes more skill and is more satisfying if a picture is unmodified by a third party program and is shown off in an "as taken" state.</fontsize> Cameras I currently own: Canon Powershot A520 (Point-&-Shoot) Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm (SLR) Canon EOS400D Rebel XTi (D-SLR) Digital rendering (as well as other work edited/compiled on the computer), which I am just starting to take seriously, I use Adobe Photoshop CS2 and CS3 for. Any questions, just ask. CURRENT PROJECTS I. Examples of Beginning Photography This is a project that involves step-by-step examples of what can be accomplished by those looking to explore the world of photography, but who currently posses no basic knowledge of photography (all frames will be captured using an inexpensive 35mm SLR). <fontsize="2">This project is meant to show what a beginning photographer could expect to be able to accomplish within approx. three months of learning, and starting without a basic understanding of photography. While only the frames developed will be posted on Shadowness, one would also be able to expect to have learned, during the course of the three months, film exposure, development, and printing, as well as some knowledge in technical, conceptual, and creative aspects (such as composition, technique, full-tonal range printing, and creating & controlling meaning within one's own images). The project's results should be on par with that of what a student registered in a beginning photography course could expect to accomplish.</fontsize> <fontsize="1">*Note: This is only an example of what one may be able to accomplish. Everyone learns at a different pace. This is merely a project showing what one could accomplish in their first three months if he or she was interested in learning photography but did not currently have any knowledge on the subject. Examples are based off of the guidance of a beginning photography course syllabus written by John Engelbrecht of The University of Iowa. All images for the project are captured by Brian Grayson.</fontsize> II. My -asofterworld- Series This project is my version of the ever popular "asofterworld" series. I will be adding new ones every now and then (preferably once a month until my first project is completed, then maybe more often than once a month) !Attention!: You may not use, modify, or replicate any of the images I upload to this site without expressed written consent from myself first.

Jun 17th, 2007Passionate by manga and video games, I founded and ran for four years the Yume Dream collective, a pre-publishing magazine devoted to Quebec manga artists. I published in it the 'Ryshtahio', a fantasy serie that sums up today more than 160 pages and a few dozens of illustrations. Comics are my dream and my main purpose in life. Altough Yume Dream ended, I still have many projects in mind and many stories to tell...
Jun 7th, 2007I have been drawing since my childhood. I have always loved comics and I made my own ones, and I decided I would be a comic-creator. But I have been drawing seriously for a year . I started it, because I found a lot of beautiful pictures and I wanted to create something similar to them. And on the first days I didn't want to be an artist, I would have liked to improve myself and I made nice drawings. And when I saw that people like my creations, and some of them who draw really well helped me a lot to become better and better. I could improve in no time. I believe that if I hadn't found those drawings and paintings I would have never started thinking about being a graphic artist. I know it is hard to become an artist, because of over-registration, but I will try it as hard as I will be able to do it. One of my friends doesn't believe in talent, but I do. If there hadn't been talents, the world wouldn't be like this. Because art always affects people's thinking like the thoughts of people affects art, too. I am seventeen years old. I live in Hungary with my brother, step-father, step-sister and with my mother.

Jun 8th, 2007Do you want to know a secret? I saw him He walked alone, wandering in lonely worlds, travelling around eternal landscapes which blurred under his feet. He wanted to know the aroma of the unreal, and in his trip full of dreams, he collected the fantasy trapped in the stars, the sighs that the wind kept giving him every morning and night, he received the visit of the creatures who live in dreams, and from them he learnt the essence of the delicate touch of passion. He captured in his notebook those dreams which didnt come true, the minds dark betrayals, the aromas from the intense reality which he will never be able to live. Because he doesnt live the present, neither the past, or the future, he is the shadow which follows the wind, the sound which accompanies the fantasies from the unreal. He looks for beauty in the darkness, for the passion in the inert, every sigh immerses him in a world where creation is life. Sometimes he felt like time slid through his fingers, and in every second the most dark ghosts would overcome him, he woke up from his litany with a creative spirit, and his sensations, his fears, disappeared at creation. Close your eyes, and in each sparkle of your heart, he will reflect your souls fears. His designs will make you go deep in his universe, where those dreams that we let go live... nekro.es contact@nekro.es
