80+ hours, digital painting in PSCS3 + Wacom Intuos 3 tablet + Referenced photos, life, and threw in some magic.
Painting of my mother for her 51st birthday, depicting herself on the Milford Track in NZ, the "Greatest Hike" of her life, as she says. I painted this mostly because her photographs stank - underexposed, spotty, and blurry. She deserved much better. Thanks must go out to many for their critiques on this piece, but I worked primarily under the tutelage of artist and mattepainter, Daniel Alekow. He helped me understand how to push depth in a landscape, and I exploited his trickery here.

As I get more familiar with the site, you will see lots of comments from me. I hardly favorite, but I am a critiquing machine when I get some free time and a nice cold beer!

I'm the same. I dont favorite more than about 5 per 200 comments. I like to have my fav gallery as a great example of the best works. I'd send you a beer, if I could. hehe. what is your favorite?

Hehe, my favorite beer is local; yuengling light or lager; depending on how many calories I've had that day.
