My name is Rick Corbett. I am a graphite and colored pencil portrait artist. I am a self-taught artist. I am also a member of the Woburn Guild of Artists. I am inspired not only by other artists but from life itself. I am inspired by people, textures, smells, sounds, all my senses seem to come alive when I draw. My drawings take me on an artistic journey of self discovery. I feel my soul awaken when I draw. GOD has given me a gift and it's a gift I hope to use to bring people closer together. It's a gift I hope to use to capture the beauty that's in this World. I don't want my drawings to simply be pictures drawn on pieces of paper - I want my drawings to be a celebration of life. My portraits are like my children. I created them and I'm proud of them. I hope to change the way people "see" each other. Everyone is special in their own special way. People trul inspire me. I love to learn about people, I love to learn backgrounds, traditions, and cultures. I think this is why I became a portrait artist, it just seemed natural to me. I believe that every person is beautiful and I hope to bring out that beauty in each portrait I draw. I hope to bring out the person's soul. I thank GOD everyday for the gift HE has given me. It's a gift that I hope to use to bring people closer together. It's one I hope to bring everyone's inner beauty out. It's one that I hope to make us all learn something about ourselves. It's a gift I hope that will bring a smile to someone's face or bring joy in someone's life.

After graduating high school, I continued my studies of Design and Illustration for 2 years, earning a diploma within the field of arts. During those years, I was able to explore realism, apply new techniques and work with different artistic styles. I've been through nearly all [digital] art styles you can name; Anime, Manga, Vector, Photomanip, Logo design, Typography, Western comic, Fantasy, Dragons, Landscapes, Abstract, even the Yaoi phase (lol). But right now, I think I've finally found my passion in Portraiture and the fine detail within Photo Realism.

Hi! I'm Eldiardo de la Pena, a freelance graphic artist from the Philippines. I love to design and create stuffs that my intuitive faculty perceives. I’m a fan of simple and simplicity. When I tackle a topic, I don’t think I’m done until I’ve found the simplest way to look at it. I think of simplicity as a process. You can’t always start there, but you can find it or create more of it as you go. I also think of simplicity as a by-product. It happens when I find the elegant path or the simple truth. Sometimes I see simplicity as a means to an end — where the end is a simpler understanding or a simpler result or a simpler way to share. Sometimes I have to look backward to find simplicity — I can’t always find simple up front, but sometimes when I look back, it was there all along, either hidden among the chaos, or I just didn’t have the right lens. http://www.facebook.com/eldiardo http://www.facebook.com/AvantJardo http://www.twitter.com/eldiardo http://www.avantjardo.tumblr.com http://be.net/jardo http://www.arachdraid.blogspot.com http://www.jardo.weebly.com

Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.
