Hi all .. I'm Jurgen and a professional chef from Germany and currently living in Virginia, USA. Digital painting and dancing is my greatest passion and I also love photography.
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
I guess every artist get his own style .. even if they do similar work .. still the style is different.
How did you find Shadowness?
My friend /snowmask invited me and after that I got hooked here on SN.
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
I love art and in art I can express myself .. I love painting animals or fantasy images .. to make other people smile and happy gives me the inspiration to continue what I'm doing now .
Hi everybody!
I'm Peg,the surreal touch of Shadowness and a self taught photomanipulation artist.
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
I think my works are different cause I am always trying to find unique concepts and express my inner world.
How did you find Shadowness?
A dA friend invited me and I got lost in all this beauty.
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
I love surrealism and I want all artists out there to feel that the most important thing is to let ourselves free creating and not controlling us.
Hi, I'm Hal Tenny. I'm doing my best trying to help bring fractal art more into the main stream. There seems to be a constant debate on whether Fractal art is even considered art. I, along with all my friends at Deviant Art and now new friends I've met here at Shadowness feel it is art. I am constantly amazed at what can be found in fractals as long as you spend the time and commit yourself.
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
One reason my work is different is because I have a lot of time to spend on it. More time exploring formula combinations and techniques and developing my own style from what I learn in the process. Fractals are so much more than repeating geometric patterns.
How did you find Shadowness?
One of my friends at DA posted a journal about JurgenDoe and the great people here along with a link. I joined that same day.
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
I like doing what hasn't been done before in fractal art. I like expanding the fractal world into places where it's hard to distinguish that what I have done is even a fractal. There's no better feeling than to create a new style or subset of a style of fractal. I like all kinds of fractals but I feel it's important to show people that there's more to them than just wispy lines, curls and bright colors. You can create landscapes and worlds, bugs and monsters and just about anything you can think of if you try hard enough.
In closing I'd just like to say that the people here at Shdowness are top notch! For the most part all the art communities I've had experience with have been great but I've never felt more welcomed than I have here. Thanks for having me!
Thank you very much for the input and nice to meet you Hal Tenny
Hello everyone :)
Im Glenn, a web developer and graphic artist in the philippines.
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
i think its because all of us are unique, and hence, all our works differs from the other.
How did you find Shadowness?
romel belga aka boiberds here in SN told me about this amazing site for artful thinkers :)
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
it gives me the thrill and excitement in doing digital arts, and to see people get inspired and see them smile makes me feel inspired to continue what im doing now.
Hello, Thank you for featuring my work here and for a very nice welcome to this community!
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
I pay too much attention to details ;) I draw what I see in my head, under my closed eyes, and rarely think of perspective and technical details like vanishing points and such, but I am working on it, I am learning :)
How did you find Shadowness?
I stumbled on this site by pure chance.
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
Well, I continue because if I see a picture in my head it will bug me until I get it out and put it on paper. I like to draw because it is like building a bridge between the reality and imagination, my inner world. It is like giving life, making something exist, some ideas, some characters, some concepts.
Thank you for everything!
First and foremost, I just wanted to say that I am truly honored to be featured next to such a talented group of artists. This site defines class and talent. Keep up the good work! Now to answer a few questions:
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do? To be honest im still working on making a name for myself so my work is similar to others in my field, however I try to think outside the box in my designs. I love to combine different elements from many different genres to create an original composition. I like to mix elements that don't usually go together.
How did you find Shadowness? I was referred to shadowness by a very talented college classmate classmate: clitherland82
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it? Art isn't just my job or career, its my life. Im the type of artist who spends all day working on a design for my employer then goes home and continues to work on freelance design commissions, then takes an additional few hours to work on personal designs. There is nothing I would rather be doing than designing. My thoughts are always that of an artist.
Thanks to everyone who favorited and followed my work and to shadowness for the feature!
First of all i want to thank Shadowness for the feature and to be part of such a great Community.
My name is Reiner Hofer, a self taught photomanipulation artist from Germany. My great inspiration is the one and only Salvador Dali. I love his surrealism.
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
In my opinion every artist do unique work, which differs from the rest. Everboby has his own imagination and this is great, so we can see art in all his variations.
How did you find Shadowness?
Well, I found Shadowness on DeviantArt. So many great artists post his Shadowness Acc, so I decided to visit Shadowness and i love it :) Awesome Community with great artists.
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
I felt in love with all kind of art, especially digital art. It helped me a lot to see the world from a different perspective. I want people to see what i see. I hope some like it :)
Thanks Shadowness and all the others here for being such a great inspiration, keep up the great work!
So much thanks! Really appreciated... I have no words! Just thanks!
Dec 25th, 2011Thanks for featuring my doodle works :-)
Dec 26th, 2011Hello my name James Svoboda
My works differ form other's because their my and not theirs... No really my works differ because everything I do, I put everything into it. And I'm always experimenting with different medians and ways of doing things
I found it through my sister /ReginSmiur
Hello everyone,
My name is Lindsey, a self taught artist who is still in discovery mode.
How is my work different.... welI it's not that different from any other surreal artist. Each piece is a little part of me, my struggles, my accomplishments, my embarrassments, and my minds way of dealing with those intricate moments of time.
I found Shadowness through a a friend, http://shadowness.com/xerxces
I will always do some form of art weather it be painting or writing or sculpting simply because it is a form of therapeutics for me although painting is my love right now. And, with every new painting I do, I am learning how to paint. :)
Thank you so very much for the warm welcome to Shadowness and the feature!
Well to start off first, thank you for being such an amazing place.
Second, hi! =D
Ok, so I'm Mare and I'm always late - obviously. Art has always been a huge part of my life and it is one of my main passions. But for the moment it's just a hobby.
I don't feel that my art, from a technical standpoint, is really any different from the art of others. I pour everything I am into every piece and feel that it's the emotion and intent behind my work that makes it different - any event in my life can be found in any one of my pieces.
I found this wonderful site while browsing on facebook, looking for new art communities.
I enjoy what I do because I think it's easy for people to relate to it, and that to me is important. Not only is it a form of therapy for me, but it can also be a huge "hey, you're not alone!" for others. I also love learning as I go along, it's a never ending lesson that I will never get tired of, there will always be something new.
Every Friday, we get together and welcome the new members to Shadowness by featuring some artwork from members who've joined in the last week. This is a perfect place for everyone to come together each week and post a mini-bio so that everyone can get to know them. You can do this EVERY WEEK, if you like! It helps keep the community close, and makes certain that no one slips through the cracks.
Each week, we have over 350 new members, so there could easily be 600 comments on each Meet and Greet article! Show some love on each other's profiles and artworks in a thoughtful and constructive way. Also, please answer the following questions as you tell the Shadowness Community a bit about who you are:
How is your work different from the work of others who do what you do?
How did you find Shadowness?
What do you like about what you do and why do you feel it is important to continue it?
