Arte es oído, es vista, gusto, tacto y olfato. Es sentimiento, terror, dolor, creación,… Alexis Pujol empezó a sentirse atraído por el mundo de la imagen a muy temprana edad, especialmente en la rama de fantasía y terror. Asombrado por las historias de Stephen King y Edgar Allan Poe, absorbido por la contundencia de George A. Romero, Takashi Miike y Darío Argento, maravillado por la visión de Jenni Tapanilla, gottfried helnwein, H.R Gigger y Luís Royo. Alexis creó un estilo propio que se forma y se transforma en su obra, incapaz solamente de dejarte indiferente. El artista hace del “Digital Art” una forma que cobra vida ante la mirada del espectador. Solamente hay que adentrarse entre sus obras…

Apr 17th, 2012Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.
