  well depends on what pics you want to take. i take usually macro pics or self-portraits because thats what i am interested in. and depends on what camera you have. i change setting with every pic i take and i always try different settings :)

  well you need to practice :) because i dont know if you want to use flash or not, if there is dark or light, if you want to take macro or portrait or landscape ... i was learning from books and net to learn how to set my camera and in fact i am still learning because my pics are not so good quality and from 100 pics i take i can use 1 or 2 :)
