So, time to shame yourself a bit (maybe XD)! What was your first manga ever, THE one that got you addicted to the genre, and how old were you?
As for me, I was 13 and the first one I read/owned was Dragonball... lol XD It got me to write and draw, and influenced me heavily... Nowadays, I look back to it and can't help but laugh a bit at how hyped I was about it.
Can't exactly remember my FIRST first title, I was like.... 6 when I was reading Hong Kong comics, Saint Seiya, Dragonball, City Hunter, Bastard, Ghost in the Shell, Ranma 1/2, and a whole bunch of others I can't remember off the top of my head. It pays to be able to hang around an asian bookstore all day because your family worked a hair salon right beside it.
When the other kids started getting into Dragonball for the first time through playing cards and all, I was all like "I'M SO OVER THAT LOL."
ah man' The very first manga film i saw was 'Project Ako' I was 12 or something at the time. it was back in the early 90's' i thought it was really cool but then i watched Fist of the North Star and Akira on the same day at my best friends house and was completely blown away!!!! then i started getting into the FOTNS series big time.
Gundam. I loved everything about this universe. The wars, the strife, the character's ambitions. Alas, I had always thought that drawing it was far too hard so what got me to draw anime was Digimon. It made my siblings happy and from that I was able to draw more.
Now I derive more from Ayami Kojima's style rather then the kiddy shows. Haha it's hard to see I was influenced by Digimon at all.
