- Symbiosis II - Origins in Flame
A sister piece to http://www.shadowness.com/art/16171
But I like this one better, to be honest.
These are different characters than the ones in the first 'Symbiosis' piece, but they are certainly related. Literally.
Pen and colored inks on illustration board.
(Dec 2007-Jan 2008)
I love the Seraph's wings.
Literaphobia
- Azure
The storm is finally clearing up.
Never did see a sky so blue.
A Christmas gift for my close friend Matt. It's his character Seiaryu.
If you know what 'Seiryu' means, you'll kind of get the title. Or you know, blue sky. Whatever works.
Ink on paper, then digital coloring in Gimp. (December 2007)
Literaphobia
- Symbiosis-Two Sides of Fire
"Fire, incidentally, has two faces to it.
There is the gentle side. The Lightbringer. The warmth. The uplifting glow that gives energy, life, and passion.
Then there is the cruel side. Wild, indifferent, with an appetite that can never be satisfied. It will destroy everything that stands before it for its own gain, and those who survive its fury are left scarred forever by its burn.
The Seventh Child, as it turns out, is very much like Fire."
Watercolor and Micron pen on Illustration board. (December, 2007)
Hot damn, it's been a while since I've been around here!
Literaphobia
- The Messenger
Marker on Manila Paper
(November '07)
Literaphobia
- Nightweaver
Traditional/Digital media hybrid. I found an old drawing and worked it up. I like the result, a lot.
wishingstar
looks real nice~
was it already coloured?
Literaphobia Yeah, it was. The original drawing was colored in with Crayola washable markers, aha. xD

- Radioactivity
With image stock from here : http://zoestock.deviantart.com/art/BG-radio-towers-23178359
A combination of ballpoint pen, Photoshop CS2, GIMP, and meaningless escape tactics from designing a restaurant menu for my Graphic Arts class.
The layout is done and looks nice, I swear. It's the content filling in that I'm dreading. >>
Literaphobia
- Biological Nightmare : Penumbra Mask
Something I've had in progress for a while.
Now she has both ear-fins. x)
riftmaker :O Looks pretty cool. I love your design. :D Are you going to add more to it? colors, more lines, anything?

- Page 1 - Consciousness
A few-years old story. I always wanted to make it in comic format.
Literaphobia
- Mysterious Trees
I was fairly pleased with how this turned out when I did it.
It seems sort of messy and chaotic to me now, even though that was the original intent.
Dated late 2006 (November)
Literaphobia
- Keeper of the Skies
A Starcatcher, without a Laveo skull mask.
Starcatchers are mythical figures from the desert planet, Aniaito. Or rather, they turned mythical after the planet changed. Their fur, skin, and scales (scales are on the lower body) have a light refracting quality to them which allows them to be seemingly transparent in certain lighting conditions. During the dawn, Starcatchers gather in groups and ascend to the skies, plucking down the stars with their long, spindly fingers. At twilight, they re-release the stars, and play with them while watching over the planet.
I did this on a day I was stuck in school after missing the bus, on an oekaki board, with a mouse. I'm still surprised it came out as well as it did.
Dated early 2006
KillBoy So furry! I mean pretty

- The Fallen Star and the North Star
Nightweaver again. Su, and her father Ezekial.
Dreams are peculiar things.
A mix of traditional and digital media. Though I don't like a few things about this, I liked the idea, and a lot of the coloring techniques.
That sandy ground shames me, however. >_>
Dated early 2006 (I'm not entirely sure of the month, only that it was very cold when I did this.)
wishingstar
it is an interesting idea. me thinks in this piece, it'd be better if you refine the linework so it looks more crisp or outlined.
great play on the depth work. and also, IMHO, make it more contrasty (darker and glowier)
=)

- I have more things on hold than a receptionist
First, I love being a Senior, and I absolutely love all my classes (except for maybe Independent Study in Studio Arts, because I get that period at the same time that a Foundations of Art class takes place, which is mostly stuffed full of kids who are only in the class because they have to be.
That's alright though. I think I have a love-hate relationship with that class. The only real problem I've had with it is this one kid who -insists on touching my stuff just to set me off-. It's worse when I'm actually in the middle of working on something and he touches it. If there's only one thing in the world I'm super-maternal about, it's my art.
But I love Ms. Fisher, and the class can be kind of goofy-funny sometimes.)
(In retrospect, I probably didn't need all those parenthesis.)
I'm finding more and more reason not to regret waiting on buying a car. Turns out that the majority of my class drives like there are fire ants in their shoes.
The classes at SVA are really cool. Everyone seemed sort of quiet, but I think we'll be a lot more comfortable by the end of this week. (I made a spinning mantis. :O Now I'm making a storyboard for a 30 second animation. In traditional media. Set to -The Entertainer-. Victoryyy~)
I'm putting the (still) Untitled animation in Flash that I started with Su and Imp on hold. I've decided that there's just way too much else to do right now, and I'm going to be making a different, shorter kind of 'Trailer' animation for a story I've wanted to make into a comic for a couple of years now.
On top of a clay Penumbra face mask, a watercolor of a gypsy family in Florence, Italy, and a paint job on a kiddie guitar.
And the comic itself. Duhur.
(That's where Hikari and Penumbra up above thar come from. *points*)
I entered into the YoungARTS competition in hopes of making paying for college tuition at least -slightly- easier. Hopefully I can put all this stuff into my entries.
There's been writing, too. A lot of that.
I might have to start working a 3-11 shift at WaWa, too. So I haven't the faintest idea how I'm going to manage this stuff...@__@
wishingstar better than people who are in the class because they think it's an easy course to take =)
Sep 26th, 2007StoryoftheRealms Your image for some reason reminds me of Naruto. Prolly becuase of the swirls.
