A birthday gift for a beautiful and brilliant artist — hence the title. Almost entirely done in MyPaint, post processing with Gimp. My initial idea was much more complex for this painting and I ran out of time. I first had to enhance the reference picture as some areas were burnt (overexposed). Then I went on painting her face in MyPaint. The reference picture is also cropped in the middle of her forehead so that was really a challenging «facial reconstruction» job here :D . Total time is about 12 hours. Much time spent in fiddling around ideas for the background, writing the managing script and preliminary practice tests.

A portrait I did as another training for a gift-to-come for one of my friends. Spent about 8-10 hours. I painted white on a black canvas this time, I wanted a little change from my habits :D . Tool: MyPaint this time, not Gimp.
