I am a painter.
Artist and illustrator I always liked the drawing style hyperrealist. Now I'm looking for new designs and styles of art in general.

Mar 31st, 2010I'm 27 years old and of Laotian nationality. More about me: I fell in love with art since I was a child. Art has always been my strong subject at school. Sailor moon was my first inspiration to draw manga style. I have not posted my old works yet -- perhaps another day. Secondly, Final Fantasy (VII-VIII-X-XII-XIII) was my inspiration for digital art and fantasy characters. Recently, I have been in love with photography. I have a thirst for improvement. Hobby: I spend most of my time on online forums (mostly about One Piece), read manga online, do photography, drawing, watching anime and watch Asian drama. You can also follow me at http://aki001.deviantart.com Thank you for stopping by and have a nice day!

May 6th, 2012Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.
