This time I worked more freely with the reference because I was most interested in the pose.

Painted in Photoshop CS4 and MyPaint.

    My constructive two cents:

This one is lovely. I like how the hands are soft, and disappear. It makes her seem youthful, and keeps the attention on her face and body. There is a certain appealing awkwardness to the image (both the stock and your recreation). However, I think in making the body thinner, some of the proportions seem a bit off. The legs are a little too long/ far away from her in comparison to the length of her torso. In the original, her torso is curved a bit, due to her posture. If you fixed her posture to be straighter the length of her legs and the placement of her knees should be adjusted, as well. Also, the face in your recreation is placed a bit too close to the audience. It makes her appear as though the head is sitting on her shoulders, without a neck. I also wish the ground was more textured. I think if you made it appear more like a wrinkled up bedspread, it would add to the piece. Lovely use of colors, and soft strokes.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I will definitely look into the pose of her legs again - I knew something was bugging me there. Also about the neck... here she's looking straighter to the viewer than in the reference and I didn't really know what to do with the neck in order to make it fit. I'll try to see what I can do about that. Again, thank you so much for your wonderful critiques!!
