Hi! I'm Joseph, Joe, Hellonastick, or HEY YOU! lol. I do several things...music, traditional photography, make poems, write and edit articles and manage daily staff activities for Shadowness.
I found Shadowness through my friend /dehk who is a long-time member and amazing photographer and camera mad scientist. I was quickly swallowed up by the (ahem) Shadows.
Can't wait to hear the stories of the new members! Awesome Work you guys!
I'm Vesna (30 years) from Belgrade, Serbia. I'm philosopher and I'm working at Institute for philosophy and modern theory in Belgrade. I have many hobbies and taking photos is one of them. My photos you can find at Redbubble, FotoBlur, Deviantart...My friends from DA invite me to Shadowness and I can say that I like it very much and I'm planing to invite more photographers here.
Thanks for the support and attention for my artwork!
I'm Leasha Hooker, from Sacramento, California. I work in Public Health and we are very busy, so my escape is Photography. I have raised 3 wonderful children and now have a 1 year old grandson who is the light of my life. Every chance I get, I am on the road finding new destinations and beautiful locations to shoot. It is amazing what Mother Nature has blessed us with in this world. I love to hike and camp and do pretty much anything in the great outdoors. I am a very passionate person and Photography is my passion. I love every aspect of it and am constantly learning. I love to shoot mostly nature images but work some Architecture in there too. Currently I am learning to work with people and portraits. This weekend, thanks to an image I saw here, I am off to the ocean via whatever I come across on the way... Loving it here, and thank you all for the warm welcome and support! ♥
I'm James and I currently work in sales for a well known multimedia company based in the UK. In my spare time I create digital art and have had several commissions, and would like to make a career out of it. I also grow magic elves out of blue cheese, and teach them to sing like Elvis (but this is a secret hobby, so please don't tell my girlfriend!)
I found Shadowness through some of my friends on deviantART and think it's a great place to be! :)
Hi everyone i am Andrew but also go under the names of Drew or Mindwarp2, i live in a place called Chelmsford Essex but originally i am from Wales. i joined shadow to see what it would be like, and lets say I've been bowled over by how everyone is on here
Any way those who are starting to see my work can see i like creating art from photos i am also passionate about photography too, something i have enjoyed since i was 15
I'm Oliver or better known as 'quedesign'. I'm 17 years old and i'm currently still going to school but I really want to make graphic design and motion graphics my job. I love creating stuff, I really enjoy it and I can't think of any other profession which would suite me more than graphic design. Right now I live in Munich but my strive is to study in London, the city I fell in love with.
I don't really have any sort of specialty, I just create my pictures and videos on the go, check out the results and let me know what you think of them!
Thanks to everyone who has already visited my profile and looked at my picture(s)!!
Hello! My name is Sandra and I'm another proud little Canadian and I live in the prairies. I am picture framer by day, and in my spare time (what the hell is THAT??!!) I design needlework, and I take photos!
I am married, with 2 teenagers who drive me insane on a daily basis, so I really covet my time that I can go out with my camera and just be left alone!!
I think this world has so much beauty in it, and I see it more since I started photography. Every where I go I'm looking for a beautiful cloud, an amazing reflection or a dance of sunlight.
Dan-cc invited me to Shadowness and it's been amazing so far!! Everyone is very friendly and I'm meeting some great people - so thank you!
I'm Tim, hailing from Tasmania, Australia. I'm a university lecturer and a photographer... in varying proportions depending on how much marking I have to do! In terms of my photography, I'm self-taught and love learning new techniques for taking and processing photos. I mostly shoot landscapes of one sort or another, but also enjoy macro and have even been known to shoot weddings from time to time. My preferred method for taking photos these days is to sling my camera over one shoulder, my tripod over the other, and ride my motorbike until I see something that catches my eye. Given that I live within five minutes of the ocean, five minutes of the bush, and five minutes of a city, it's not hard to find things that interest me! I've been involved in exhibitions for the last 4 years, and have my second solo show at a major public gallery here in Tas in about a fortnight...
I heard about SN by reading Mike Shaw's journal on dA, and decided to check it out due to general dissatisfaction with that site. After a quick look at the quality of work here, and the warm, welcoming community, how could I not join? I've really enjoyed meeting people here so far, and I've been amazed at how many dA people are here - many of whom I'd never met in over three years on that site. I think that says something about the difference between these two communities...
Thanks for making me feel like part of the community here... I look forward to helping it grow.
It's so nice to know more about each and every one of you. ♥
My name is Carin or mostly Caja (which means box in Spanish which I got to know after I adopted that name online) and I'm staff here. I am right now doing my last bit at university for a long time: I am writing my bachelor thesis and in June forward I am hoping to travel the world. If any of you want me to crash on your sofa and sprinkle some fairy dust (I'm known as the SN fairy) don't hesitate to say hello on my profile :D
Other than that, I like to arrange events, listen to music, nerd around on SN and dA or just go out photographing. On bad days I stay inside and photograph still life :)
My name is Shane, a computer engineer from Texas. I mostly attempt to write free verse poetry and a smattering of manic, metaphysical prose scattered about the interweb. I heard about this site from /HellOnAStick 's deviantART journal, which I discovered after featuring him there and realizing that he was raving about something better, a real community of artists run by artists. So here I am. I would like to help out and share art and experiences and be exposed to a high level of artistic greatness, which Shadowness seems to be delivering on. If anyone ever wants a critique on their poetry or needs advice or help in some aspect of poetic expression, hit me up. :)
I'm Nóra from Hungary. I'm currently an university student.
In my free time I gladly deal with art (take photos and play music), sport, and reading. I enjoy to go the cinema and theatre as well.
Mainly I work with abstract, surreal and conceptual type of art for they are able to blow the mind. Throughout I try to catch emotions. I always look for the atmosphere. From time to time I associate my pieces with music.
I heard about SN on dA since lately almost everybody talks about this great place around there. I thought I would have a try. No doubt, it was a good decision. I like the high quality of site and the art you can find here, moreover it's a pleasant community because of the stuff and the members. Always a pleasure to see more and more dA friends appear on here.
Last but not least I thank you for your kind attention in my work, it's highly appreciated.
I wish you best of luck with this nice website for the future.

Hi everyone ♥
I am Gregorius Suhartoyo. I live in Jakarta, Indonesia. I work as a freelance motion graphic artist. I always love in photography since forever but finally got the chance to try it almost 2 years ago when my friend lend me his other camera :) I really passionate about nature photography but it's hard here to go to that place because it's rather far from here.
First I try and really like nature photograhy then I explore human interest photography. Recently I just make potrait portfolio to promote myself in photography business.
I really love doing any kind of sport, and I'm playing basketball every week. Also I really love watching movie :) They said that I'm a movie freak :D
Thanks for your support Shadowness and I'm really grateful to know you all in here. I love to browse the artworks here & give supports to them. Because I really know how the feeling when our artworks are being recognized & appriciated by others ♥ I hope there will be more people who like to critics and comments in this community.
Best wishes to you all ♥
My name is Faheema, most people know me as Famz. I'm from the Caribbean, Barbados to be precise :D. I am a professional Graphic Designer and I love photography and conceptual art. I founded my own design company 'Junoon Designs' (which is based on an Indo-Western theme) - facebook.com/junoondesigns late last year and have been working my way into making it successful. It's been a struggle but I'm getting there slowly :). My company is based on greeting card designs, customised designs and wedding invitations. I also offer graphic design services.
Photography is a huge passion of mine, I feel like I'm on top of the world when I have a camera in my hands. I go crazy lol. I love nature and conceptual photography a lot and most of my photography work reflects it. My facebook photography page - facebook.com/famzphotos
I knew about Shadowness a long time ago, my brother stumbled on artwork he liked and showed me, and then some months later I checked it out again...but was so intimated and inspired by it and the same time. I thought - my gosh, the works on here looks way too good, I can't even compare (at the time I wasn't where I am at in my artwork and I hardly knew about all the artistic opportunities and styles there were, I was such a noob). I saw the fanpage on fb, liked it...and then thought I'd join the community...and here I am :D since I joined, all the inspiration that left me seemed to have come flooding right back and I'm slowly becoming addicted because I check it every day! lol
Thank you so much guys for featuring my work and asking me to participate. I do feel inspired :) and to all those who have and will show their support! I really appreciate it!
Hello everyone !!
I'm Duke from Southern California, USA.
I'm fairly new to photography. I purchased my camera about two months ago so that my wife and I could enjoy a hobby together (she's been shooting for a couple years) We are both having a great time learning together.
I found Shadowness on a post in some forum in another place and followed the link. Once I followed that link and found the concentration of talent here I knew I had found a new home. The inspiration found here keeps me coming back numerous times a day. Thank you all for that! This place rocks!
I'm D. and I do things sometimes. Ahah; I'm not much of a one for words, particularly about myself: I've been taking photographs for about seven years, on-and-off, and I've been immersed in various artistic ventures since before I could walk or talk.
That's about it, I think. I'm enjoying the site so far, even if my old toaster of a computer has trouble with lag every time I visit!
My name is Marina. I come for Croatia. My primary medium is traditional illustration. From time to time I do some payed illustration work and commissions and I hope to finish Art Academy in the future. Photography is only a hobby to me, but it seems people like it more than my art. :D Basically I enjoy art in any form and I wish I was talented in every field. :)
I was invited to Shadowness by Florian aka DpressedSoul and I really like it here. It's a quality site. I hope to have good time here, meet some new people and discover amazing art! ♥
My name is Raquel (know mostly as Kami) and I live in Portugal, 34 years old. I am a web designer for an American corporation and I've discovered my love for photography in 2008. I started taking random snapshots but soon realized that photography was so much more than snapshots.
For a long time, I've struggled with equipment and books and I am always trying to learn from the people who know more. I have a lot of people who inspire me.
I have discovered Shadowness because of problems at dA. People started to talk about this place and one member here sent me an invitation. I do not wish to bring that subject here because it doesn't matter. In the end it made me discover Shadowness, so it was all worth it.
I am having a great time here, I am learning and receiving warm comments from everybody. It's a pleasure to be here and thank you so much for everything you have done. I wasn't expecting any of this, but it makes me really proud.
So many of you, its great to get to know you all .
I would love to be a subscriber, but sadly, I just dont have the money for it at the moment :( But same day I will :D
My name is Debbie, some of you may know me better from another site by Tepara, Its a name which i use just about everywhere, Unless someone has already taken it.
Tepara is a Maori word which just means Debbie. So nothing special about the username, sorry to disappoint you hehe.
I live in New Zealand, and NO it is NOT a part of Australia :| It is its own country :P
Im a country girl though and though. Love all animals. Well apart from Moths cause they scare me lol.
I love photography, Im not too good at it though, But only one way at getting better isnt there, try try try, and try again :d
I also write poems a lot too. Although I dont add much of my poems, but I do add some.
I live on a farm by myself with my dog Sammie, and my 4 cats, Mischif, SG ( Silly Goose ) . Ashy, and Dog ( yes I have a cat called dog hehe )
I think thats about all? If you want to know anything, please feel free to ask.
My name is Diane but you can call me Hazel or Di. I just joined yesterday after reading about this site (in brief) on a friends journal on deviantART. I have been a member over there for 7 years so far.
The hardest thing to explain is what I do. I do just about anything artwise. I am a mother, an artist, and I work in a gas station kitchen. I used to volunteer for dA also. I was a chat moderator and a gallery moderator. I did everything within my power to help dA become a better place. Given some things happening and people in my life changing as well as other changes coming, I decided I need a change of scenery and someplace else to focus on when I get bored.
As far as art is concerned, I am pretty much a Jack of All Trades but a master at none. I dabble in just about every medium that I have the supplies for. My focus at this time is typography and I am trying to find inspiration and ideas as the days go on.
Thank you all for the warm welcome, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. =3
Hello, Shadows! I, like hazelnutx, joined this site after reading about it from a journal on dA. It took me ten minutes to get convinced that Shadowness offered exactly what I was missing on dA, and so here I am, feeling more inspired than ever. The caring and optimistic community here makes it really special :)
I'm graduating from high school this year. After the summer holiday (when I'll mostly work), I'll start folk high school. It is a year where you live at a boarding school, have no academical pressure, just develop your interests and learn more about yourself. There are almost a hundred folk high schools in Norway, and together they offer about two hundred courses. I'm passionate about music, so I will live and breathe music for a year ♥
My interest in photography began when I got my SLR camera. It has made me more observant of the wondrous beauty we surround ourselves with daily - nature. I see motives everywhere I go.
I have always loved drawing, and I feel I have developed a lot by watching the technique of others.
Please don't hesitate to say hi, for any reason or none at all :)
My name is kristeli (teli). I am an art lover who are very addictive mostly in vectors/vexel arts, designs, and Photography. I am a music lover. I believe music is the key to your artistic mind. You coulnd't start an art without a beat ei? ;)
Pentool is my bestfriend ever since I started to learn it. I also love to draw and sketch random things. Gaming is what I had loved years back. I am always inspired by how mind-blowing the gaming graphics is and I thought I'll give graphic designing a try since that was what I was always motivated to do :) I started making arts in a gaming community and here I am now :)
My passion for photography has never been left behind. The capture of a moment and the perfect atmosphere, color, contrast, impact and all the comes in to make that simple picture that conveys something is worth a thousand words to describe.
I found this awesome site from a Filipino vector group of people on facebook and they keep on talking about it, i checked it and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, people are so nice and will make you feel like a family ♥. I am just glad I came here ;)
Well, I'm Vangelis... not the famous composer, just a random 33 year old guy who lives and works in Athens, Greece. I spend most of my time creating pictures and/or listening to music. Other than that, I like spending time with friends and my heroine wife, I watch movies, I take big walks, I sleep, I read Bukowski's poems and pathetic crime novels, I research innovative ways to looks and sound ridiculous while trying to look and sound smart. When not doing anything of the above I earn my living working as an IT analyst and business developer. I'm a casual smoker, a caipirinha maniac, I rarely cook, I don't exercise, I don't believe in any of the known gods, I'm usually calm and polite, I have a very weak memory, I travel as much as I can, I watch silly dreams while I'm asleep and make silly thoughts while I'm awake.
I consider myself a photographer, although many might say that my pictures are often too heavily edited to be considered photographs. I'm nor professional, although I sold a print once for €5 and also got paid to participate in some exhibition about a year ago. I mostly go for mood and emotions, probably because I'm rather insensible in my real life. I shoot digital, although I often try to fake analogue. I use a tripod in order to have steady shots, only to blur them later during post-processing. I often use textures, although I don't create them myself. I don't have a specific style neither am I devoted to specific themes.
I was referred to shadowness by Daniel Hachmann, aka chinastone, and 've been having a good time so far here!
