It´s not that difficult to think about people in former times were conviced displays like this had a divine origin.
I shot this after 02:30 few days before new moon, so it was really, really dark at that time.
This auroral display must have been a homogenous band- it lasted even long enough to capture a panoramic version of 4 horizontal images.
I couldn´t resist, as the band wrapped around the mountain in the background. Later on it began to vanish and then serious dancing lights appeared. But that´s another episode.
