This illustration is a tribute to Japanese artist TOUMA's 10th anniversary as freelance. Touma is a Japanese artist that has created a bunch of awesome characters and turn them into rad vinyl toys. He's one of my favourite artists and one of my main influences, so I wanted to pay him a little tribute. The three characters are, from left to right: GooN Knucklebear DESTDON

The Tricksters: Iktomi and Coyote

"A Trickster is a mischievous or roguish figure in myth or folklore who typically makes up for physical weakness with cunning and subversive humor. The Trickster alternates between cleverness and stupidity, kindness and cruelty, deceiver and deceived, breaker of taboos and creator of culture. Tricksters play an important role in the folklore and culture of the United States. " The Tricksters: Iktomi (left) and Coyote (right), 13x9cm each Gouache, crayons and collage. These two are Iktomi (spider) and Coyote. I made these two mini canvas for a professor and friend who teached me American Literature. I'm still practicing with traditional media and I really enjoy it!

SAVE&DESTROY Art Show. Inauguración 5 de Marzo, 2012, en Estación Diseño. Exposición que incluirá juguetes de vinilo e ilustración para dar una visión contemporánea sobre el fenómeno kaiju y tokusatsu, esto es, los monstruos gigantes y los superhéroes japoneses. Distintos artistas del ámbito internacional y de distintas disciplinas aportarán su visión personal sobre el fenómenos.
