Lors de sa publication je participais au choix des artistes représentés et à la mise en page, ainsi qu’à l’illustration de certaine nouvelles. Par la suite, j’ai été amené à travailler avec diverses associations, maisons de disques et maisons d’édition pour la création d’affiches, flyers, pochettes de cd, logos, illustrations…. Me découvrant de plus en plus une passion pour le monde du multimédia j’ai voulu élargir ma palette en me penchant sur l’univers du web grâce à une formation au CNA CEFAG de Bagnolet en 2006. C’est à partir de juillet 2010, après un poste de 2 ans en tant que graphiste web designer à lexpress.fr, où j’ai perfectionné mes connaissance en html, css, flash, photoshop et autres domaines relatifs au graphisme , que je me lance dans la freelance me permettant ainsi de varier les projets travaillant ainsi avec des architectes, des cinéastes, ainsi qu’avec des entreprises diverses et variées et mêlant plusieurs media.

So, Hi! My name is Richard Davis, also known by my online identities as nighthawk101 or StudioDavis. I'm a graphic designer and visual digital artist who has filled many different roles in the past such as a DTP operator, retoucher, designer, concept artist, art director and creative director. I have been involved in art, design, prepress, printing and web development for over 15 years now, concentrating mainly on my career as a graphic designer in which I predominately work with advertising, retail, and collateral media while specialize in prepress, conceptualizing and implementing designs for large format printing that involves complex die cutting and make up, along with my ability to solve technical issues in both design and IT. I am always keen to learn and experiment as an artist and I've made good use of my free time creating personal artworks that are based on photographs that go through a heavy process of transformation, assemblage and detail that puts them closer to a pictorial expression that's both strange and surreal in a dreamlike emotive world. My tools include Adobe CS5.5, Apple Mac G5, a passion for art and design, loud heavy music, and my creative bag of tricks which includes: monochromatic tones, contrast, solid lines, alignment, grids, cleanliness, focal points, simplicity, balance, empathy, emotivity, high craftsmanship, attention to the details, and a pure love for white space. Oh, and chocolate. On a personal note I'm an enthusiast of everything involving art, design, humour, music, history, alternate lifestyles and liberal views. I truly enjoy listening to BBC radio podcasts and whiling away my waking hours to music while occasionally watching documentaries and science fiction television series, but I can always be found to be lumbering around under the weight of a good book. I'm influenced by some of the more prolific yet controversial characters of our time such as Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, Stephen Fry, Derren Brown, Douglas Adams, Brain Cox, Penn Jillet, John Cleese and Salvador Dali.

I am a chilean Graphic Designer and Illustrator. I have been drawing and painting since I can remember. My professional work experience is about 16 years in the areas of Illustration, Concept Design, Background Painting, Texturing, Art Direction and some knowledge of 3D Modeling and Animation. I have worked for companies in the areas of Graphic Design, Advertising, Editorial, Animation, Post-Production and Videogames. I have to say that I am good at designing or creating environments and props from scratch, painting with a strong sense of color, and creating dramatic light/ambience in a background. Also, I always have a great time drawing and painting caricatures of famous people and some portraits too.
