when I was still young I worked for a transport company as a mechanic for truck's. I drove throughout Europe for cars to repair. so many times I came through switzerland.

so you know many places.... the Gotthard route is a very important route.

I have drove him only once. the road was too steep for my heavy van. normaly i took the tunnel.

yes of course.... i do not like the tunnel..... too long... i always feel very uncomfortable..... but it is also the fastest way of course.

it is a boring tunnel where it always stinks.

!!!!!! oh yes !! coz it is one of the most important tunnel in Europe.... unfortunately too less goods go to be transported by the train :-(((

you're right. I think that by train is too expensive.

shipping goods with lorries is too cheap.... so the train is really expensive.... we have big discusses about that but of course the lorry loby is against higher fees.....

Also the distance of the transport plays a role. from Netherlands to Italy is not so far. and factories go to smaller stocks and more to delivery on time. it is a complex problem.

yes.... i totally agree Paul....but the more complex problem will be our future.... and we have to think different.... we have to.. inconvenient or not. this is only one problem of the whole topic and we need to get used to learn to change....
