This is an old cattle catch pen out in a field near my house. The fog finally got me convinced to shoot it. :)

Mother Nature is about to get me upset about that.
I plan to have a stearn talk with her the next time I am out shooting. LOL!

I guess that's what she is doing. She tried to fool me today my friend! After I had told you that she had ruined my sunset and I had already came home...the sky cleared just in time for an amazing show! :)

so happy the fog could convince you to do this capture...... oh i love this humidity.. hovering within the trees and dancing over the field... a magic world and so very inspiring!

You know me and fog my friend. :) I actually went to this spot once before with the intention of shooting it with a pretty sunrise behind it. But there was just to much clutter in the frame to me and you hardly noticed the catch pen at all. The fog took away so much of the clutter in the shot and I decided to stay back in order to keep the trees in frame to. Something I hadn't done on the sunrise morning. Thank you so much Barbara! :D

ah, could be me...... am absolutely the same......
Feb 20th Replythe fog is a great Magus and creates a a fantastic and enchanting world.... and inspires our fantasy..... i love how the trees frame the catch pen.... and in my fantasy i see the cattles.... the men who are beside.... a very 'busy' moment ... now 'plunged' into silence...... and only the fog brings the echoes of the sounds of this once busy place.....
you are more than welcome Dennis !!

You said it perfectly. I actually use to help round up cattle with Border Collies in this very catch pen 20 years ago. Its amazing to think back on how chaotic and busy this spot was back then looking at this photo now. The cattle still roam the field....but the catching has become more modernized than this. So here it will sit until it falls apart with time.
Feb 20th Replybarfischer
so i will also hear the echoes of the sound of barking collies.... memories which the fog brings back.....

It sure brought back the high pitched yaps to me standing there. :) All the dust stirred up in the air. The many jobs I did back then for local farmers is some of the hardest work I have ever done in my life...but I will admit a part of me misses those days.

:-)))))) when i was a young girl.... i wanted to marry a farmer... but there was no farmer around where i lived.... unfortunately.... or maybe also fortunately (as i know how hard job it is) one part of my dream came true... i have a little garden... no sheep, but flowers...... and sometimes still dreaming of a little field and a few sheep....
Feb 21st ReplydSnider
Awww....I like your dream! You don't see many sheep around here but honestly farming....is farming. Doesn't seem to matter where you go on earth that is a true statement. Yes perhaps fortunate although something tells me you would of done well in a farming life style. None I know are wealthy.....yet they are some of the happiest people on earth. they "get it". What really matters I guess. Like you and your little garden.
