Grandfather is the trout down in the water. Alice lives in Edgewood, far off in the distance. I used about 12 different photos to create this, then painted over it in Painter with the cloning tools. Took months, on and off. Perhaps 50 hours total. Thu, 16 Jun 2011 12:44:44 -0400 Captive Queen
This photomanip is a book cover mockup. I will use it to get work from book publishers. If you know of any publishers who are actively seeking new artists, please let me know! Thanks! Model is Elandria, on Deviant Art. Comments and questions welcome. Sun, 22 May 2011 23:27:16 -0400 Myrddin
This is Merlin (Myrddin, pronounced "merthin", in Celtic), as I imagine him in his study. He contemplates weighty matters while his faithful companion, the raven, looks on. This is a photomanip/paint over composed of at least 9 photos. Merlin is played by the wonderful stockist Skydancer. I used the pen tool to create paths, as Monroy does, and many layers. Based on a photograph I took years ago at a "car cruise" in Pittsburgh. It's an early model (1950's) Chevrolet pickup. Available as a print at Original for sale down at the outer banks. Let me know if you're interested. The yellow-gold color, btw, is Quinacridone Gold, by Daniel Smith Art Supplies, Seattle. Gorgeous color. Thu, 26 May 2011 19:48:55 -0400 Friends Stick Together
This painting is about friendship, especially life-long friendships going way back to childhood. Good friends stick together! This is available as a print and as a greeting card at Painted from scratch in Photoshop CS5. Sun, 12 Jun 2011 21:26:40 -0400 Sad Puppy
This is a painting similar in style (I hope) to a guy I admire, Odwin Rensen. You may have heard of him. He seems to be not around anymore, unfortunately. Anyway, wherever you are, here's to you, Odwin! Tue, 28 Jun 2011 19:32:23 -0400 Who, me?
Puppy's in the flower bed again... I thought I uploaded this one, guess not. This is a photomanip and hand-painting on top.
