I'll be going out to the Somerset Levels in the next few weeks, as Starlings, from all over Europe, come there to roost for the winter. There have been over 1,000,000 recorded there, and the skies vibrate to the sound of their wings. It's like an express train flying over you.
Now I know a bit more about low-light photography I hope to get some shots of the huge flocks as they circle over the reed beds.

The birds will be there 'till around March, when they start migrating back for Spring. Some of the flocks darken the sky for minutes on end, so it's going to be quite a job. I'm just hoping I can do the starlings justice

Flight, a sudden gasp of autumn wings fluttering in single motion fleeting; the sound of the cold, echoing it roared, sending the summer loving days bursting unto southern gaze. Beautiful, thank you so much for sharing .
