gate to Zuerich.....

by barfischer in Urban life

the airport Zuerich is a fascinating place..... not far from where i live.... there is a nature preserve and scientists are interested in denature the landscape in the environment of the airport..... the beaver came back..... herons, even the white heron lives there.... we can hear the nightingale..... very seldom moorlands birds live here..... and last but not least..... the wonderful view to the alps..... so close all..... nature and modern technic...
of course there is a big discuss how much technic nature is able to endure... as everywhere on our planet..... and the less the better..... but i am also someone who needs a computer and a mobile and i also use the airport to explore new countries.....
where is the balance......

aww..unfortunately i think the terminal faces the wrong way anyway to see the cascade mountains..and the olympic mountains that they do point towards are blocked by hills :(

so nope..not the rockies, they reside farther east like in montana..i was referencing the cascades which run from BC, Canada to Northern California :)

      truly a pleasure, barbara!

Lovely view Barbara and a very good question. Where is the balance? So many scream about technology encroaching on nature, yet they use technology to do their screaming. How to keep the balance is a forever question. So far, the balance hasn't been to very bad and the debate has been going on for years. Maybe we are in balance and don't know it?

so very appreciative for your words and thoughts Holly..... unfortunately.... i am not sure if we are in a balance.... i think rather we still need to find it..... the biggest problem is the water.......

as long as there are people, there will be issues. People are wasteful, especially of water. They need to learn, but it doesn't ever seem to sink in. Maybe some day

yes..... nature will survive.... but its not sure if human kind also will survive........ all we do or what we don't do will be for our grand children and grand grand children.... not for nature....
i wish each school child would see the film 'an inconvenient truth'.......
sometimes it is good to share such thoughts..... thank you Holly for discussing !!!
