Test #03 - closed beta

So S7's been making a little more progress since the last major update, new features added and all.. To boot there's been a little bit of a domain change: this means more beta testers! I'll try to keep this entry as brief as I can...

First off I'll start with the EDIT PORTFOLIO page since it's pretty much complete.

▼ Users looking to customize the look of their page with CSS can do it all here:

If anyone's a little lost, the S7 Style group has some basic codes for anyone to use [more on groups in a bit]. Just take it into notepad, change the #color properties, paste it in the CSS editing section and preview away.

Even things like privacy and notifications have been taken into account in the page customization! Users can maintain a clean portfolio for public viewing and a personal friends-only section at the same time.

The FOR HIRE subsection is a nice addition, anyone can pretty much type up their resume there, use a little HTML to highlight the important bits, and throw in some contact info. What's also cool is how people can always upload a jpeg version of their resume. Personally I'd stick to text-editing only if anyone's doing a lot of short contract jobs and need to keep updating for future employers.

Another S7 major update is the return of the groups!

To create a new one, go to POSTS > GROUPS. Although on that page you won't see the groups you've already made [would be nice to see a small list somewheres], instead you can see them on HOME > GROUPS.

▼ Here's a screencap:

Forums and albums are also available for every group, they'd make a nice private space for users and friends to hang out. On a massive community scale, the Brainstorm function has yet to be unveiled, I'm looking forward to seeing what Meng comes up with on that :D.

Till then, I'll be poking around for bugs and all that jazz.

I think just like the menu, i'll put a fixed color for the chat bubbles. It's important that you're able to choose a readable color for your main text without penalizing the bubbles.

lol that's a great screenshot you got on the last. Yeah, Brainstorm is something to look forward to, but I gotta be careful because I don't want it to be unused like previous shoutbox.

We've got a lot coming up for sure! And a lot of fixing too...

You should unprivate that post BTW. Otherwise new members can't see it ;)

Nice introductory for the new members Jess. I can't wait either to see what Meng comes up with on the Brainstorm feature. From what I've gathered, it will be sort of a chatroom... will see :)
