Superman

by axl99 in Work/Collabs/Fanart

Inspired by the whole fallen superhero idea from the Incredibles, I scribbled this down in the sketchbook and roughed out lighting sources from there with photoshop.

This was originally a rough concept for a postcard ad done for this comic convention. It got passed over for some random dude who put out his work for free.

At the time I did this, I thought of the idea that a hero living a normal life would rise again to action in troubled times for those who once thought they didn't need him anymore. And perhaps at that point he believes there's no real need to hide behind a secret identity. I didn't really plan the details of this image out too much and just went with the initial impression I imagined of someone in that same position.

Another concept I had in mind were a battered and bruised Bruce Wayne looking at his Batman costume on display.

Ha! HA! Bruce Wayne, i must show you a painting with Bruce in a comic ipostase, but first i must find the link for that painting.

And i am with you in the ideea with a hero without a mask or a costume, it make the character more imposante.

Thank you kindly :D. Part of me wished I could just finish it someday, but part of me was still feeling bummed about this not getting approved by a client who ended up using another artist's work instead.

But yeah, lots of people seemed to like how raw this was LOL.

Very interesting! Also to this day the Incredibles is still one of my favorite CG films from Pixar.
