Cool photo, i'm digging the scene and the creamy soft colors of it. Some of the papers are vectors right? they seem a bit sharp for having been thrown in the air aswell as barely any shadings on them, am i right?. Being sharp edged like they are, it kind of throws me of a bit, could had increased more of a depth field if they were more blurry at points. If they aren't vectors then it's a pretty unique shot hehe.
To put it short, good sharp quality, lightning is spot on like usual, some of the papers = so-so. But overall good photo!
Haha, it's okay. Now that you've pointed it out it does look vectorized. o.o But I think it helped that I used good quality paper that was really new. It was such a waste after getting crumpled after several rethrows... So I decided to use them as scrap papers during my midterm examinations.
I really like the composition in this picture. The flying papers are a really good touch -- reminds me of one of zemotion's concept. The colours are superb -- one thing I find not as astounding as the rest is the pose of the model and her facial expression seems perhaps a bit awkward/unprepared.
I love her! With my own works I like incorporating action. It's a touch I'd put on all the photos I'm able to. Yes, I agree with you. This was her first time modeling and she found it a bit awkward, sadly. :( But I still like how her natural personality came out -- she's very playful.
I can see some of the inspiration. You definitely have your own defining style that I can recognize. How can I put it... softer, less dark than zemotion's style. Your work seem a bit more pure and angelic. It's very enchanting.
Zemotion's work is definitely some of the most inspiring I've seen -- it's more goth, darker and moodier while at the same time very pure and profound.
Wow, you definitely have a way with words. I always have a hard time describing myself or my works in general, but you were able to hit the mark. I totally agree with you. I don't know why but I usually end up producing these types of soul in my art. But I'm not complaining, I think it's naturally part of how I choose to see things. I love enchantment and the purity of stories.
And no worries, if these kinds of words are your ramblings then I have no problem listening to such meaningful thoughts at all. Thank you for the constant feedback and constructive criticism, Meng. I think I am really able to grow here. (Should I call you To Meng or Dexter?)
anney, I'm deeply "enchanted" to have you here. You are much more talented than you give yourself credit for. And it's true that my english isn't my first language so I try, hopefully without arrogance. I'm very excited to see you grow here with us. :)
I read somewhere on zemotion's blog that she's inspired by gundamn... Well, you, I must say must be inspired by Final Fantasy. I can see it. The way you tell your stories are from dreams, and it's full of fantasy. There is always a love story and a lot of playfulness, but all the same serious and not without contemplation. No wonder you wowed me and Aki instantly with your work. We are very much inspired by that material too.
anney, this person who invited called "Dexter" is not me. I thought you knew him... hmmm... mysterious -- just like the TV Show. I hope for your safety that it's not him! :p
Really?! My email said the sender's name was Dexter so I assumed that was your english name or something. But when you replied it was changed to To Meng. Hmm... Very weird. Good thing it's cleared up now though. To Meng it is! Haha
Yesss, I absolutely love Final Fantasy. But I had no idea that it influenced me this much. I'm not able to play the new games anymore because school keeps me busy.. But I've always had this crazy dream of being able to work at SquareEnix. They're just so awesome.
Thank you for having me here! You guys are unbelievably nice you know that. I also must say, your english is more than good. I used to be a web developer... And looking at Shadowness, I'm so impressed with what you've done! The UI looks so sleek.
We're both really impressed with your work and modesty. That joke you made really got us. haha
I'm honoured to hear that you like the design and community here. I've been doing this for 10 years, and Shadowness alone has probably taken more than 10,000 hours from me. As Malcom Gladwell puts it, that's the amount of time I needed to master one art.
I'm super impressed at how mature your photography is and how you aim to be great at so many things, which I have no doubt that you are already in most of them... knowing your modesty. Being only 21 and having the world in front of you... Keep it up!
