This is probably my personal favorite space pic that i have done so far, this is mainly because of the star field in the background (although it is very difficult to see on the pic featured on the site).
This pic is one of my earlier productions in this genre and i was very pleased with what was produced. The meteors in the image are a one off at the moment, but i feel that they have worked very well with the colour and mood of this image that i am hoping to use them again sometime in some later work.

Looks good man. I think your best one so far. Again with the textures! Find some textures that are over 1600 pixels large for an image of this size. Look at my pieces and you'll see what I mean :) I use like 1280+ textures for even the smallest planets. Also some critique is to let up a little on the lens flare. A lens flare happens when taking a photo of a scene and the lens of the camera is dirty or has flaws in it so if you are creating a spacescape, the flare should be erase so only the glow is present. If you want the look of a camera taking a photo of a star, then this works.

cheers for the crit and the rest of the comment, and yeah, i think that it would help to look for bigger images, as the large planet does look rather blurred when enlarged.
Jun 13th, 2008 ReplyI'll also have a look at that lens flare technique, i fully understand what your saying with the dirty camera, is i have seen it before in the past.
once again thanks for the comments.
