Grasses that somehow stand against the weight of snow, like this one, are often subjects I find interesting and shoot often. In a field of so much lifelessness, there is still the promise of new life and the memory of lost life.
A wallpaper is available. For those of you using the lighter Shadowness theme, this might suit it well.

It's rather eerie and strange, as though they were meticulously placed there for some sort of ritual.

That is a really cool way to look at it :]

I had to zoom it in to see exactly what it is .. did you plant this in the snow or did you just captured this powerful with pure luck?

No this happens naturally, by chance some grass are pushed down and some stand in the meadow. So not planted, and not so much luck either but careful composition and taking advantage of what was there, and the light.

This is really powerful, especially with your description. I've never really seen anything like it before, thanks.

I love the idea behind this shot. Although not as captivating as your other pictures, I find it incredibly interesting too.

Thanks. Yes it's a quiet contemplative piece. It can grab ahold of you, but it takes time to get a grip, people need to look hard and give it a chance :]
Jul 8th, 2011 ReplyThe original full color version is a little louder, with the blue / yellow contrast, http://wroth.deviantart.com/art/Bone-Orchard-II-75367955 , I like this one more however!
