They stated at Blizzcon that this is only the first hero class to be introduced. For sake of balance, they only want to introduce one at a time. Any class can unlock Death Knight. More than likely, any class will be able to unlock the other hero classes (when implemented) as well.
Aug 4th, 2007I may have to actually roll alliance someday to be a Gnome Death Knight xD
Aug 3rd, 2007Understandable. Blizz has stated that their target is the player who is very active in WoW. The fact that there are no new races is proof of that. They just want to give more to the existing high level players and expand content based on player feedback. hopefully someone will upload bits of the feed to youtube or something so you can see the new environments in action. As soon as I find more info, I'll be sure to post it. The Expansion is still months away so, it's too soon to come to any conclusion yet. I, personally, am very excited right now. I'd still like more info about the Death Knight quest line and whether or not unfinished azeroth content will be worked on or not. Azshara is my favorite zone.. yet it is still so unfinished :/
Aug 3rd, 2007With that said, It is greedy to charge 40.00 for another expansion (if that's how much it will go for) when they are already getting 15+ a month. I'm hoping it'll be about $25 at the most. If it is more, I'll probably buy it.. but I still think it is too much considering what they make now.
Aug 3rd, 2007Well, I just got finished watching the developers panel on the blizzcon live stream. From the look of things, Death Knight (and all future hero classes) will be unique enough to be worth playing, yet balanced enough so they wont completely replace or dominate over other similar regular classes. As for inscribing, I don't think it will be bad. Everyone had the same worries with jewelcrafting and it turned out fine. We'll se when it comes out. Unlocking the new class is one reason it is a hero class. if you could just choose it and go from the start, it wouldn't feel very "epic". and that is what they are going for. As for releasing a new expansion every year, they planned this (and let everyone know) before TBC was even released. It can actually be a very good thing. Look at Guild Wars, seems like expansions are always coming out. A lot of people have already done pretty much everything TBC has to offer. Once you get your epic flying mount and start raiding Kara and beyond, there really isn't much else for you to do but boring reputation grinds. The fact that we can go to Northrend is what makes me want the expansion more than anything. However, the other things such as siege weapons, new customization options, ability to use flying mounts in Northrend, the Hero Classes (DK now, the rest are still under development according to the panel), siege weapons and destructible buildings as well as new battle grounds and an outdoor PvP area complete with the siege weapons... and Dalaran!. I'm honestly excited about it. If you don't find Northrend exciting.. well.. how can you honestly call yourself a WoW fan? >.< Howling Fjord looks amazing based on the in game footage shown on the blizzcon live stream... in fact, it all looks really amazing, except maybe Grizzly hills, but the stream was lagging when they showed it so maybe i missed something.. maybe not. Other than that, it looks good to me. I do admit though, the trailer did suck. The narrative ruined it for me.
Aug 3rd, 2007yeah the trailer isn't that great. Wait for the official high quality CG-movie like trailer.
Aug 3rd, 2007I posted a bunch of info about the next WoW expansion in the WoW group. http://www.shadowness.com/wow/wow-wrath-of-the-lich-king I'm constantly updating it.
Aug 3rd, 2007I say we go to Arygos so i can give everyone stuff :D
Aug 1st, 2007Well I only mentioned "The Rise of the Horde" because of the Draenei back story in it. It directly linked the Draenei to the Orcs. Velen even took in Durotan and his friend after an Ogre attack. It also gave many details about the Draenei history as well and the Orcs attacking them once their blood became corrupted. Up until the point I read the book (and completed the Draenei starting questlines) I honestly didn't like anything about the Draenei introduction. Now I think they're great. Blood Elves still annoy me though. There are way to many inconsistencies in their story. They would never side with the Forsaken, even if Sylvanas is the Forsaken leader, unless it was to use them. However, when you start as a blood elf, you're friendly with the Forsaken, and neutral with the rest of the horde. It makes no sense to me. Thrall's reasoning for allowing the Blood Elves into the horde is that the great numbers would help the Horde defend themselves... but this totally goes against Thrall's morals because he knows how addicted to Arcane magic the Blood Elves's are... and he knows if anything attracts the burning legion back to Azeroth, it will be the Blood Elves. Thrall is supposed to be one of the wisest leaders in the world of Azeroth... Blood Elves annoy me to no end.
Jul 28th, 2007I'm totally going to betray the alliance if they ever implement a traitor system though.. >>; lol
Jul 27th, 2007yucky!!! Eh, I'll just make a human male then I guess. Since we gotta use our SN names and all. If I could use any name I'd make a Draenei female... nicer view >>;
Jul 27th, 2007Actually, I felt the same way about the Draenei stories until I read "The Rise of the Horde". Now I love their story. The Blood Elf story just can't be saved. it's horrible. As far as quests go though, I love the draenei starting quests. Especially when they throw that massive party in your honor once you complete the questline. You also get turned into a tree and you get to fly through the air. Good time. The Blood Elf quests are kinda random and I didn't like the stories but the quests rewards (for those levels) are undeniably superiors to the quests rewards in any other starting area in the game.
Jul 27th, 2007Arygos 70 rogue 51 hunter 36 warlock 35 mage 24 druid Founder of the old Lament of Chaos guild (recently disbanded on very friendly terms and reformed into a machinima community). Very well known on Arygos for organizing bi-weekly world PvP events that ALWAYS have over 100 participants.
