Shadowness - Taiga http://shadowness.com My name is Sydney Zmitrewicz, and I have always had a passion for art and nature. After drawing and selling my art locally for a few years, I decided ... en Delicate http://shadowness.com/Taiga/delicate-2
Project for my 2D Design class. We had to take an animal we felt represented us in some way, and make it abstract with patters and texture. I forgot how much I missed b/w ink drawings with texture!! Yes, I DREW those splatters. I chose a betta fish because I see myself as: Gaudy, elegant, stubborn, high-strung, aggressive, having high morals, intelligent, and protective. Bettas are great parents, and very good with members not of its own species ^^ No Amur, it would take years to do the fur. Is it just me or is SN dead? I tried to get all his spots in the right area, but I love the outcome ^^ no crested gecko's eyes are not normally that blue, but the silver looked blah xD So much more contrast in RL, the scan killed it! __________________________ ACEOs/ATCs: 3.5"x2.5" Watercolor, pearlecent shimmer ink, and color pencil on bristol. I tried different amounts to get a crackle effect, and shine. In real life it has tons of sparkles, glitter, and gold. I really like the colors, but this paper was ANNOYING. It soaked the color in too fast, and I had to keep layering. But I get it decent. I made a few mistakes, I am mad at that tail xD It is based on a mountain lion (juvie, hence the spots) and some kind of buteo! Of course I broke my fine quill pen nib, so I can't paint anymore commissions/trades/etc until I can buy a new one. Hence this piece is for sale. Enjoy! We have one chance to save them, and we need to spread the word. Amur leopards are unique because they are one of the smallest leopards, and the more secretive. They have brighter more vibrant color fur and a more striking appearance then any other leopard (to me.) I only wish I could do more for them… This will probably be a perpetual WIP, as I am too lazy to do more fur. This is a gift to Chikrata and alannahILY because they pester me to draw more cats. I hope you enjoy! But when I go to art museums, galleries, and shows, most of the art there is the kind meant to be stepped back from to enjoy. A lot of the art I do not post on DA is like this, because I really love the freedom from painting semi-abstract and blurred color paintings. But I think this one is easy enough to distinguish bird from background to show you guys. A northern carmine bee eater, I bought new acrylics, and of course forgot black xD So I chose a very colorful bird to test them out on my new Ampersand hardboard. Acrylics and ink on Ampersand hardboard, 5"x7" for sale, just not me (: Enjoy! You must feel so free and unlimited... I really like painting with acrylics xD I tried a smoother surface (I have no hardboard or clayboards so I used some cardboard) and I love the effect. I will be ordering more supplies today for future acrylic works. I should probably draw more birds then just owls and gryphons xD This time, I used a boar hair bristle brush for what it was intended for!! >.< Acrylics, white and black charcoal on 8.5"x5" cardboard. Its more colorful and vibrant in RL... Up for sale ^^ Enjoy! Fri, 15 Jul 2011 00:18:53 -0400
