Wow. You've made them interesting, Taff. Only, what's with all the crooked lines going up and down? Are those patches? Nuclear concrete patches? **shriek!**

Cheers Garapan.
Aug 2nd, 2011 ReplyThe lines are repairs to the concrete. This was a coal fired power plant and an experimental one. The towers are all different to each other one way or another.
When the plant was decommissioned the boilers, turbines etc were demolished and the very large chimney from the boilers was demolished with a controlled explosion but the impact of the structure hitting the ground collapsed an embankment on to the main London to Edinburgh express railway line, closing it for several days at great cost, as a result the contractors daren't demolish the towers so they have to be maintained. So there they remain for myself and like minded people to photograph and make into art.

hahahah!!!! Love the insight, Taffy! Thank you!

I'm about to upload what is probably the most surreal image I have made in a single shot and it's another shot of these cooling towers!

Nice work and colours, yet very eerie considering this could be a nuclear plant.
Jul 23rd, 2011 ReplyTaffmeister
Thank you very much.
Jul 23rd, 2011 ReplyI hope it wasn't a nuclear plant, I spent a long time inside the towers photographing and playing with the most amazing echoes.

I can imagine :d, let's just keep it at "cooling towers" then ;) just for our health's sake, hehe. And again, nice photograph

I'd never have imagined it would be possible to capture cooling towers, in both colour and beauty but you have easily achieved this.
Jul 23rd, 2011 ReplyTaffmeister
There's beauty to be found in everything, just got to find the right way of looking at it.
Jul 23rd, 2011 ReplyThebuild
I agree, all it require is a little more time to look.
