I do comment on the Concept/storyboard vid you make first, then ill jump on the HD preview you posted after.. just too see and feel the entire vid so far.
0:20 to 1:11 - I find it quite long for nothing. We end to just keep away and watch details of nothing.. not focused on anything.
1:21 to 1:24 - Could be cut off, feel like a empty space to fill time.
1:25 to 1:32 - Character is awesome !
Overall... i LOVE the character and that spacebubbleship with water ! Atmosphere is awesome. From the Fish part to the end is just pure joy to watch. Cant wait to see that finished.
It feel random from start to end, not that im saying its a bad thing. I like this kind of work. But understanding the story a little bit more can be interresting... necessary? no. You have no idea whats going on and thats probably what make it feel good to watch.
Now for the HD preview. That look fantastic ! Love the details on the spacebubbleship ! I do wish the trail at the back would be alot longer like the storyboard. Was giving it more power and a sense of speed and movement. I hope you was able to give it a big sense of depth !
On a personnal opinion, i would like to see textures used... even a textures used over the overall film. Sligthly seen, just to give a sketch feel. I kinda find it in HD a little bit too "cartoonish". I liked the story board soo, that can explain it.
Thanks for the honest critique. It has been hard to incorporate good textures into the final renders. For some reason it doesn't seem to fit with the crisp vector style I've been using this whole time. Maybe that's not such a bad thing. It's been pretty fun so far. I really hope that I can make the thrust on his ship more like that of the storyboards.
As for the storyline, it's of this astronomer leaving earth in the beginning and then getting lost in the clouds. He then can't find earth anywhere and is very depressed and alone. He meets the space monster and almost flies into it but then gets swallowed by another one. He then thinks all is lost, but to his surprise he finds earth in the belly of the beast!
Ya lot more. Even too i guessed half of it right. The beginning i could tell whats going on. The eated part by the other monster i couldnt tell too from the storyboard.. but ya thats a storyboard, final result would probably make it feel right ~
was a pleasure mister, was fun to watch anyways ;)
Awesome, thanks! Did you like the music? It's "Teach Me How to Fight", about staying alive, never surrendering! I think it fits. I need to work on that whole 2nd monster eating him...I don't think the teeth were enough to make the audience understand what's going on.
