Sarah by RobertBalmer

Wanted to go for that old film poster look with this shot so just used a single flash aimed next to Sarah, quite happy with the result.

You nailed it with this shot. Makes me feel as if I'm curled up with a bagged up booze bottle looking up and dreaming of someone far beyond my reach.

Lol, thanks mate. Not sure why I use the D3S for stuff like this, it's great for all the band work I do but prob a bit OTT for this kind of thing but I do love it, lol ;)"

The shots of Ian, Sam and Sarah were all taken on the same night. The studio was crowded and everyone was trying to use the large white area to shoot in, so I grabbed Ian and we went over to the black walled area. I'd been experimenting at home for a while with a black background and side lighting so it wasn't much of a deal to set up, although it was the first time I'd used the portable flash units for something like this.
I was quite lucky that night, if it hadn't of been for the help from Pete Tynan, a friend who was with me, I'd have ended up with very little to show from that night. It can get a bit too hectic at times and with only 3 hours to shoot the time goes quick.
