Thanks, I find this site always makes me want to push what I can do to the limits. Some times it works, some times it doesn't. Really glad to be here amongst all these amazing people :)

Great lighting & set up mate. Just a bit distracting on the tip of the sword. I really like the angle & the composition Robert

Cheer mate, still got a long way to go to get comfortable with using the flash units but I'll get there, lol ;)

This one is a great shot. Very nice setup and beautiful costume. But I find the exposure to be a bit harsh.
Apr 30th, 2011 ReplyRobertBalmer
Do you think it needs the exposure or contrast dropping a bit?
Apr 30th, 2011 ReplyRobertBalmer
Think I understand, just tried increasing the exposure and dropping the contrast a bit.
Apr 30th, 2011 Reply7Shadows
The contrast is great, I just think the white parts are too harsh, so I think the exposure is what causes it. :)

Yes, I see what you mean. Going to have a play with this, lol

Wonderful photo, love the composition!

Cheers :)
Apr 30th, 2011 ReplyI did a set of about 9 shots for Sam playing with the sword but this was my favourite, had to use 3 flash units to get the lighting right, one either side of Sam to light her and one pointing down above the camera to light the tip of the sword.

Wow, great creative work then!!

Thanks mate, I know we all see everything differently. I just love to know how shots are set up and taken too, I find it's great for giving you ideas to try and how to view things from a different perspective :)
