So for my thesis class I was assigned to do 8 pieces of concept art to go along with my thesis. Now, I'm not a natural illustrator and I'm INCREDIBLY pressed for time (it's due tmr) so I decided to make my 3D model look like a sketch.
So this is using Cinema 4D (my weapon of choice, i despise Maya), using Sketch and Toon module. There's really no tutorials or references on how to use this plugin so I read the entire manual basically -_-!!! However if you would like to learn how to use the plugin let me know, and I'll make a tutorial when I get out on Christmas break. Its much easier than it looks and I would love to spread the knowledge!!!!!

This is what i called Inspired. Each Part of the robot comes from different era's - most of it from the 50's (see the Iron Giant) but some are from the Transformers, some from Gundam etc...
Dec 15th, 2009 ReplyI never really knew Cinema 4D could do this - because everybody using Maya and forgot there were other tools in making Animatics (I been doing research - particularly in the sports field and Introductions and when CGI is imposed in film - it has this pop - the same pop you see in Avatar (James Cameron) - that when done in Digital Film seems flat.
This is a great model never the less, and i know you will do well in the final.
