Feb 10th, 2011I'm a self taught illustrator from the Philippines. My artworks usually focus on women with very long hair surrounded by flowers and vines. Other artworks depend on what I feel or what I have experienced. I do traditional and digital illustrations. I usually listen to music while I draw something because for me it helps a lot when I'm making details to my drawings. My dream is to become a childrens book illustrator. As of today, I'm still trying to find and learn more techniques in drawing to improve my illustrations. =) You can also find me here: Tumblr: http://nikkiradan.tumblr.com/ Behance: http://www.behance.net/nikkiradan

May 24thLowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

Feb 25th, 2012I was born and raised in Iloilo City, Philippines. When I was about 3 years old, as she was going to work, my mother used to leave me at home with pencils and papers. Back then, i already felt really good with it. As the years were passing by, I realized that it became more than just a leisure. Drawing and Arts actually became a passion. So In high school, my parents enrolled me into art education, and i studied dance, music, theater, and creative writing. I took the visual arts as a major. Thanks to the courses I followed, I enhanced my talent and skills in arts. Then, I went to “La Consolasion college” in Bacolod and decided to take Fine Arts as a major to get a bachelor degree in Advertising Arts. I kept learning, enhancing, and exploring more knowledge and inspiration about visual and fine arts. Now, I’m specializing in Photography and Multi-media arts such as Graphic Design, Cinematography and Post Production. Aside from visual arts, I am influenced by Hip-Hop Culture. I’ve been practicing B-boying or Break dancing for the past 9 years, and I understand how beautiful the freedom of the arts is. Dancing is for me another way to express myself. But still…Knowledge is endless… I keep on learning day after day ; I’m earning my life with passion, and with freedom of mind My passion of Arts guides me trough life.

Jun 30thMy name is Rick Corbett. I am a graphite and colored pencil portrait artist. I am a self-taught artist. I am also a member of the Woburn Guild of Artists. I am inspired not only by other artists but from life itself. I am inspired by people, textures, smells, sounds, all my senses seem to come alive when I draw. My drawings take me on an artistic journey of self discovery. I feel my soul awaken when I draw. GOD has given me a gift and it's a gift I hope to use to bring people closer together. It's a gift I hope to use to capture the beauty that's in this World. I don't want my drawings to simply be pictures drawn on pieces of paper - I want my drawings to be a celebration of life. My portraits are like my children. I created them and I'm proud of them. I hope to change the way people "see" each other. Everyone is special in their own special way. People trul inspire me. I love to learn about people, I love to learn backgrounds, traditions, and cultures. I think this is why I became a portrait artist, it just seemed natural to me. I believe that every person is beautiful and I hope to bring out that beauty in each portrait I draw. I hope to bring out the person's soul. I thank GOD everyday for the gift HE has given me. It's a gift that I hope to use to bring people closer together. It's one I hope to bring everyone's inner beauty out. It's one that I hope to make us all learn something about ourselves. It's a gift I hope that will bring a smile to someone's face or bring joy in someone's life.
