I love these kind of shots of Aspens, though very common I always try to put a small individual flare to a common theme, and in this case it was the glowing hillside of the Ruby Mountains. The campsite was incredibly serene and despite how much activity I had going on in the area I still found several hours time to walk around my site and get many other intimate shots. The nights were also very dark and the arm of our galaxy shown quite well Fri, 07 Oct 2011 17:53:41 -0400 Marmot on a Rock
A Marmot sits on a rock at nearly 12,000 feet in elevation. The park is a popular birding area while the Spanish Peaks are extinct volcanoes. This was taken with my telephoto lens as I was trying to capture some of the waterfowl in the small pond, and saw this scene but didn't want to change lenses due to laziness. I still feel it came out well though Fri, 20 May 2011 00:53:42 -0400 A Different Take
This was a fairly steep and high hill rising above one of the primary lakes at Lathrop State Park in southern Colorado.
