It is designed to show visually what it's like to be hypersensitive to emotions. The colors are super intense like the emotions are, and it's emanating energy, kind of like what it's like to be in a good mood (ie, super hyper). Additionally, the warm colors flow uninhibited into the cool ones, just as good moods can unexpectedly turn sour with the slightest provocation. Soft pastels on Ampersand Pastelbord; 11" x 14", 2011 Sun, 03 Jun 2012 17:11:52 -0400 Life, Love, and Peace
This piece is filled with symbolism. The red in the red-violet represents love. The green in the green-blue represents life. The blue in the green-blue represents peace. The rose represents both love and life, while the peace sign speaks for itself. I'm at a place in life where I'm filled with peace, contentment, love, and a love of life itself. It only felt natural to get all those emotions out on paper. Soft pastels, 9" x 12", 2011 Sun, 03 Jun 2012 17:11:47 -0400 Sensitivity
This piece is visually demonstrative of how I experience the world through emotions. The colors are very vivid, as intense as the highs and lows that result from being emotionally hypersensitive. The amount of energy exuding from the piece itself shows which end of the spectrum I was at while creating it. Soft pastels, 9" x 12", 2011 Sun, 03 Jun 2012 17:05:52 -0400 Harmony in Blue
I mixed a particular blue (Ultramarine light--PB29) into every single tile in hopes that it would tie the colors together. Unfortunately, the colors distorted in the picture just enough that the effect is not quite as noticeable as it is in real life.
