Personal art, of my beloved dog, Samaenthiel. He'd be 4 today... Happy birthday.
Samaenthiel, laying there in eternal slumber, slowly crystallized, turning into crystalline.
I've been doing this for about a year, very much on-off, because I actually never had time to work on it. But, mostly in the 2nd half of 2011 til now. I said myself I had to finish it til today otherwise I couldn' t forgive myself. I'm not very satisfied with it, I'll never be, whatever I'd do. I'll never give him enough justice to make something as good as he was.

A really beautiful work you did here. :) I know what you mean. My former dog passed away 3 years ago, I wanted to draw him a long time, but never had the courage to even start with. I always think it could never do him justice, I would totally screw it up etc. But what YOU did here is so unbelievably amazing and this in total. ♥ =)

Thank you very much. To be honest, until now I never speek of my dog, not a single word. Can't even say his name. But I never forgotten him. Even now I don't think it's good enough. I could never paint something as good as he was.
May 20th ReplyDon't say that, you wouldn't screw it up. If you think it could help, try to overcome that barrier and paint your dog. Really, you won't fail.

My own dogs passed recently, and to make this more saddening, the song that reminds me of them just started playing as I came upon this beautiful picture of yours.. I know you think it doesn't do him justice, but I find this picture amazing.

This is incredible my friend....it immediately caught my eye because your beautiful boy looks just like my beautiful girl who has passed as well.....she was 13years old and lasted more than most do. She was an incredible, thoughtful, instinctive, loving, and protective animal that I will never forget as mush as you will never forget your great champion!
