Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

I see the world in frames, as long as I can remember I have taken snap shots of everything I see. Photography to me is very important; it is how we can document the events of our lives. Things are always changing. I biggest obstacle is making sure my camera is always ready. One of my photography teachers told me to take a picture a day. I think this is very good advice and something I feel is important for me. It is a form of therapy, relaxation and peace. Today with the modern world of digital it is so easy to snap away without taking the time we once had to. With digital photography you see your images right away. I think that it is easy to forget to take that extra time to get the photograph you really want because you can take so many.

I'm a 15 year old girl learning everything I can about photography. My goal with photography is to take what is real and make it feel surreal yet tangible...if that makes any sense. I love macro and flowers. I also do a lot of still life. I'm working on getting better at portraits. And that's about everything relating to my photography. On to the personal stuff about me. I couldn't live without music. My favorite bands are Fall Out Boy, OneRepublic, Breaking Benjamin, and 30 Seconds To Mars. I love writing and have had one poem published. I'm currently working on a novel with the current title of Blood Lust, previously Tricks, possibly to be Mind Games. As I have only a vague idea where this is going the only way I can describe it is this; It's about a girl who is a victim of a murder attempt but in an unlikely turn of events she has to protect her murderer. Art is a fulltime job for me, I draw and paint ever since I could hold a pencil... Now Im working on various materials and stuff, mostly shirt designs and psychedelic visuals. I discovered the art of Photo Manipulation on Deviantart, a major creative community, which I joined in 2006.This curiosity became a passion but my first drafts lacked technique and signification. Communication by imagery is very important to me. I've finally found my format and my style after many hours of trial and practice. My craft evolved most between 2008-2009 and a new passion was born in the form of Darkyria Design. Darkyria Design is the creative name that I chose because it reflects my personality and my art. This new knowledge of Photo Manipulation was added to previous skills acquired earning my bachelor degree in Graphic Design and it allows me to explore beauty in darkness, forgotten worlds, myths and legends but it is also a great way to narrate stories with my own vision and to give and share some of my feelings with other people through characters. My primary work is with fantasy and with emotional and dark illustrations. Most often I choose female character as the main subject.
