I'm a graphic and image and sound designer (University of Buenos Aires - UBA). I have a fluid handling applications and web graphic design, 2D and 3D animation (Toon Boom Studio and Autodesk 3ds Max), implementation and maintenance of websites (Adobe Creative Suite applications). For over 15 years to work designing for digital, interactive graphics, creating unique designs and customized to the needs of each project. Valerio Arcioni was born in Rome in 1982. Passionate about visual communication since a very young age, he developed a good technical competence on image communication at different levels. When he was very young he did a three-year training course in photography at IED (European Design Institute). He starts to work in 2002 as an assistant photographer especially dealing with still life and reportage. He improves his software knowledge about photo-editing with the Photoshop expert course run by Claudio Palmisano at 10b in Rome. Attracted by the Adobe softwares potential, he exploited the innumerable creative possibilities, using the computer as it was a digital dark room. From 2003 to 2006 he travels to London a number of times. From his London experience, a project named Under Control project was born. It was about a new system of social control, and led Valerio to have his first solo exhibition in Rome in 2007. Interested in social issues, he approaches the Palestinian cause, organizing photography workshops for children in the refugee camps of Balata and Aida. The need to experiment with new communication strategies would bring him to the audio-visual world. His pretty long experience with analog and digital photography, facilitates the passage from photography to direction of photography and post-production. In 2008 he shot his first documentary on the festival of trumpets in Guca in Serbia working both as a producer and director. He has also directed the photography of a lot of music videos. He is currently dedicated to the improvement and study of new lighting techniques for compositing and special FX. In the “Rat World” he covers the role of director of photography and he is the person you want to speak to if you need to make a shooting and/or color correction.

The more I paint and the more I discover that I have to learn. Each painting is a new beginning, a battle, a questioning ART is a long journey, with byways and breaks. Some people lose themselves along the road, some go straight ahead, some go back. But at the end we always realise that it's a neverending road. What can we say about my art? Unexpected? Bizarre? Intense? Disturbing? Certainly! I don't know if it is possible to describe my art. I would say that it is a mixture of several movements: surrealism, expressionism, impressionism etc. ^^ (if you have an idea I'd be curious to know how you would describe it) It is evolving like me. I can not say that there is an artist who really inspired me, it's true that I love Miro, Paul Klee, Dali and surrealism but I feel closer for now of Francis Bacon. My universe is made of a lot of imagination, contradictions, quirks, fun and mischief and a little of cynicism ^^ What prompts me to create is the emotions I feel, the things that make me giggle, that revolt me or that exasperate me, in short it's feeling that makes me feel alive! 6 years ago I never imagined that I would be painting a day! Life is mysterious and sometimes surprising. I switched from the computer to traditional painting through photography and all that because of small animated signatures on a forun hehe. I can only thank the teacher's workshop drawing because he pushed me to do oil paintings. I was terrified at the beginning because it was only 6 months that I was drawing and it was an unknown world for me but I fell in love very quickly! Now I prefer much more traditional painting compared to digital. Painting is so much more sensual! The smells, touch, freedom of movement I absolutely love it. :D I'll always have a place for digitalart and photography.
